(5%) decrease in the value of Egyptian non-petroleum imports during June 2020 compared to June 2019

M.G. Ismael Gaber - Chairman of GOEIC announced that GOEIC had issued its comparative monthly report for the Egyptian non-petroleum imports during June2020 which showed a decrease in the Egyptian non- petroleum imports with value (263) million dollars (5%) compared to June 2019, that the value of the Egyptian non- petroleum imports during June 2020 reached (5.303) billion dollars versus (5.565) billion dollars during June 2019.

Where the report illuminates a decrease in value of the imports of (9) sectors, starting with the imports of “spinning and weaving” with remarkable decreasing value to record (160) million dollars during JUNE 2020 compared to (277) million dollars in JUNE 2019 with value decreasing (42%), Then came the imports of “handmade industries with value (26) million dollars during JUNE 2020 compared to (35) billion dollars in JUNE 2019 with value decreasing (27%).

The imports of “leather and shoes” reached (10) million dollars during JUNE 2020 compared to (13) million dollars in JUNE 2019 with value decreasing(23%),  the imports of “ readymade clothes” recorded the decrease  in its imports with value (24)million dollars in June 2020 versus (28) million dollars during the same period of the previous year with decreasing value(15%), and also decreasing in the imports of Furnishingsto become (14) million dollars during June 2020 compared to (16) million dollars during June 2019 with decreasing value(12%), also decreasing  in the imports of “Engineering and electronic products” to be (1.412) billion dollars during June 2020 versus (1.584) billion dollars during June 2019 with decreasing value(11%).

Then the decreasing in the imports of “AGRICULTURAL CROPDS”,”CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS PRODUCTS” and “building materials”.
