Conformity Unit Regulation
Definition of CU GOEIC :
- The Unit issues these certificates at the request of the customer under which the product obtains technical conformity in accordance with the relevant technical specifications and regulations.
- This certificate assures the consumer that the product conforms to international standards and technical regulations.
- The unit has been registered with the Saudi Commission for Standards, Standards and Quality (SASO) The unit has been listed on the SABER platform as a conformity calendar acceptable to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The unit is thus able to extract product conformity certificates and review factories to ensure that their products conform to ISO/IEC 17065 and relevant Saudi technical specifications and regulations developed by the Saudi Commission for Standards, Quality (SASO) as a condition for entry of products to Saudi markets.

- It is an electronic platform that helps to register products and issue certificates of conformity required electronically for imported or locally manufactured consumer products to enter the Saudi market.
- Its objective is:
- Linking Saudi importers with legal representatives (conformity certifiers) to extract conformity certificates for the products.
- Facilitate the procedures for registering the required conformity certificates electronically for imported or locally manufactured consumer products to enter the Saudi market.
- Reduce the time needed to release consumer products by Saudi customs.
- Raise the level of safe products and ensure their quality in the Saudi market.
- Easily track products and shipments.

- Under the Commissioning of the Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade for General Organization for Export and Import Control to issue certificates for the free sale of industrial goods and products required to be present at export and by Chairman of (GOEIC) to the Conformity Certification Unit, Major General Eng Essam Al-Najjar, to assume the task of granting certificates for the free sale of Egyptian exporters
- The Product Conformity Certification Unit issued a certificate of free sale for many products such as auto parts - detergents - hoses and plastic connectors - fertilizers and their additives.
- The working group of members of the conformity certification unit and a number of technical experts of GOEIC worked on reviewing the documents technical reports and granting the certificate of free sale to customers applying for the certificate of free sale.
- Certificates are issued within 4 working days including laboratory tests that are conducted.
- The Certificate of Free Sale establishes that the product to be exported is in accordance with the standards applicable in Egypt and is traded in Egyptian local markets.

Definition of technical regulations:
- It is a document approved by the Board of Directors of the Saudi Commission for Standards, Standards and Quality, which sets out the characteristics of the products and associated processes and their production methods, including the applicable administrative provisions to be adhered to.
Technical Regulation of Textile Products:
This technical regulation applies to all textile products displayed in the Kingdom's markets:
- All products consisting of at least 80% weighing of textile fibers (fiber, yarn, yarn, curtains, furnishings, carpets, clothing, fabrics and technical textiles).
- All furniture used as covers, umbrellas and sunscreens consisting of at least 80% weighing of fabric fibers include the woven parts found in the following products:
- The top layer of multi-layered flooring.
- All mattress and mattress cover.
- All equipment and products for camping are textured and make up at least 80% of the layers of top lids.
- The scope of the regulation excludes products designed for medical purposes or medical prosecution as they fall under the requirements and regulations of the Food and Drug Authority.

Technical Regulation of Shoes and Accessories (SASO Technical Regulation for Shoes Products):
This Technical Regulation applies to all types of shoes whether leather, textile, plastic or mixture of these materials and excludes from the following area of regulation:
- Medical shoes.
- Seeded shoes play kids.
- Professional shoes with additional requirements and requirements included in the technical regulation of personal protective equipment and clothing.

Technical Regulation for Leather Products:
This technical regulation applies to all leather products - whether they are of natural or artificial abnormal skin or mixture thereof and excludes from the following regulation area:
- Shoes that are subject to the provisions of the technical regulations of shoes and their accessories and related standard specifications.
- Animal skins (pre-tanning) because they are raw materials intended for manufacture and not a final product prepared for direct consumption.

Technical Regulation of Biodegradable Plastic Products: (SASO Technical Regulation For Degradable Plastic Products)
This technical regulation applies to biodegradable plastic by OXO and then biodegradable (BIO) and excludes from the regulation field plastic products used in the field of medical and food industries.

Technical Regulation of Electric Batteries SASO Technical Regulation for ELECTRIC BATTERIES:
These technical regulations apply to all electric batteries, and exclude (military sectors/industries - medical equipment - equipment to be launched into space) from the provisions of these regulations.

Technical Regulation for DETERGENTS: SASO
These technical regulations apply to detergents of all kinds, and disinfectants are excluded from the provisions of these regulations.

This technical regulation applies to food contacts.

SASO Technical Regulation for Paper System:
This technical regulation applies to paper and carton.
Products (paper in contact with food - wallpaper products subject to other technical regulations - wet and scented wipes and make-up wipes subject to The Food and Drug Authority are excluded from these Regulations.
