Within the framework of directives of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to support competitiveness of Egyptian products and maximize the benefit from trade agreements concluded with various countries and economic blocs, the GOEIC held a meeting with representatives of DeFacto Company to discuss ways of enhancing competitiveness of the products manufactured in Egypt and facilitate their access to foreign markets.
The meeting addressed the requirements for accessing the target markets, the mechanisms for utilizing the GOEIC’s services in areas of inspection, issuing accredited certificates, and the inspection results that may accompany export shipments, in order to enhance the importers’ confidence and facilitate procedures of entry of Egyptian products into foreign markets.
The two sides also reviewed the rules of origin and advantages granted by the trade agreements concluded between Egypt and a number of countries and economic blocs, to supports the ability of companies operating in the Egyptian market to expand exports and take advantage of the opportunities available in international markets.
During the meeting, the GOEIC emphasized its commitment to provide technical support and specialized services to exporters and manufacturers in Egypt, through an integrated system for inspection and issuance of certification, in line with the requirements of foreign markets and to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.
This meeting comes within the framework of the GOEIC’s role in facilitating foreign trade, supporting the state’s efforts to increase exports, deepen local manufacturing, and enhance the position of Egyptian products in global markets.
