The GOEIC's role supporting export councils is represented in several services provided to exporters, which lead to the development of Egyptian and they are detailed as follows:
- Establishing integrated laboratories in all major ports and developing laboratories with a total of (310) laboratories, which contributes to trade liberalization and reducing export obstacles while ensuring the quality of goods, as well as speeding up releasing the incoming shipments through increasing the carrying capacity and preventing the accumulation of samples and reducing customs release time. These laboratories also obtained the International Accreditation from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) in many tests with a total of (3900) tests according to the International Standard (ISO 17025).
- Establishing an "Exporters Facilitation Unit" at the GOEIC for confronting the obstacles facing exporters through supportive communication and the rapid resolution of their problems in coordination with the relevant authorities.
- Establishing a Product Inspection Unit in accordance with the International Standard ISO/IEC17020/2012 for issuing Conformity Certificates for exported products. This unit provides inspection services to manufacturers and exporters of local or exported products to ensure that these products comply with the Applicable Standards and Technical Regulations. The unit is accredited in (paper and paper products - textiles and ready-made garments - footwear and leather products - all types of batteries - cookware and tableware - electrical household appliances.
- Establishing Conformity Certification Unit for industrial products in accordance with the International Standards ISO/IEC17065/2012 for the requirements of the entities granting product certification, and registering on the Saudi SABER platform to support Egyptian exports and to access Arab markets in several regulations, namely:) Technical Regulation for Textile Products - Technical Regulation for Food Contacts - Technical Regulation for Biodegradable Plastic Products - Technical Regulation for Leather Products - Technical Regulations for footwear and Accessories thereto - Technical Regulation for Detergents - Technical Regulation for Paper and Cardboard - Technical Regulation for Gas-Powered Appliances and Accessories thereto - Technical Regulation for Electric Batteries - Technical Regulation for Building Materials - Technical Regulation for Electrical household Appliances - Technical Regulation for Paints - Technical Regulation for Packaging Materials.
- Establishing the Certified Exporter's Program on the GOEIC's website www.goeic.gov.eg, that grants exporters (Certified Exporter Code) that replaces issuance of Certificates of Origin (Eur.1 & Eur-Med).
- Issuance of Free Sales Certificate (FSC) that is required abroad by certain countries to release Egyptian exports of some industrial products, in accordance with the Resolution of the Minister of Trade and Industry No. (249) of 2022, stipulating that the GOEIC is competent to issue these certificates for industrial and chemical goods and products which exportation requires these certificates.
- Automating provision and verification of Preferential Certificates of Origin documents through the website www.goeic.gov.eg, in order to reduce the time and effort for the exporters and facilitate the movement of exports.
- Automating commercial registration procedures for various commercial registrations (importers, exporters, commercial agents, production supplies) for facilitating the procedures cycle, saving time for customers, and providing more distinguished services
- Inauguration of the GOEIC's offices at the Chambers of Commerce premises (Cairo, Banha, Kafr El-Sheikh and Tanta) for more facilitation as the entire services are provided to exporters and importers within the framework of the digital transformation and are delivered as quickly as possible, for saving time and effort instead of going to the main premises. The GOEIC has also provided employees from these governorates.
- providing various training services to exporters through the accredited Center of Excellence which halls are spread across all the GOEIC's branches (Cairo Airport - Alexandria - Damietta - Port Said - Ramses) in various fields, including (export procedures - trade agreements - holding seminars and workshops).
- Working within the customs release system to provide further facilitations for exporters and importers, contributing to the faster and more cost-effective entry and exit of products, improving Egypt's ranking in International Trade Indicators, and increasing foreign trade rates by working to reduce customs release times.
- Doubling the GOEIC's working hours by working throughout the week, including weekends and official holidays until 6:00 pm.
- Launching the GOEIC's new electronic portal as of January 2024 in (3) languages (Arabic - English - French) to be an information and service interface for the GOEIC to provide detailed information about the most prominent services provided by the GOEIC's entire areas of work.
- Developing the infrastructure of the Foreign Trade Data Warehouse (FTDW) with the aim of enhancing its efficiency and capacity to accurately and effectively absorb and process data, meeting the increasing business requirements and contributing to improving the quality of reports related to the Foreign Trade Movement.
In addition to the aforesaid, the GOEIC cooperates with the export councils, Chambers of Commerce, Business Associations, and Federation of Industries to provide the technical support to exporters and contribute to increasing the capacity and competitiveness of Egyptian products for export through:
- Workshops and periodic meetings aiming to raise awareness among exporters.
- Technical consultations on compliance with the International Standards.
- Involve them in setting export policies and identifying obstacles.
- Signing protocols for joint cooperation, for example but not limited to (Egyptian Plastic Exporters and Manufacturers Association EPEMA- Chemical Industries - Egyptian Exporters Association - Chamber of Wood Working & Furniture Industries - Textile and Spinning Industry Support Fund - Export Council for Printing and Packaging - Chambers of Commerce).
