The number of shipments presented to the General organization for Export and Import Control during the first half of 2024 reached (43,536) shipments.
The number of industrial import shipments reached (36,505) shipments, (34,328) shipments were accepted and (2,177) shipments were rejected, while the number of non-industrial import shipments reached (7,031) shipments, (6,709) shipments were accepted, and (322) shipments were rejected.
GOEIC’s laboratories examined (243,652) shipments during the first half of 2024, where the number of samples examined reached (146,157) food and chemical samples, including (9,309) contract samples and (97,495) industrial samples. Regarding certificates of origin, the General organization for Export and Import Control issued (259,746) certificates of origin during the first half of 2024, in accordance with the rules of origin protocols applied in the preferential agreements concluded between Egypt and other countries to apply customs exemptions and benefits and Which are granted to Egyptian exports, and these certificates were between (the logo of the League of Arab States - Bilateral Agreement - COMESA - Mercosur - EUR1 - EUR. MED - FORM-A - G.S.T.P)
In terms of communication with the public, complaints, inquiries and grievances received during the first half of 2024 were responded to through the communications center, which received (23,346) calls, While the Citizens Service Department received (2,353) visitors, while the website received (163,779) visitors, and (386) inquiries were answered on the Ask and We Answer service on the website. While the business sector issued (17,625) reports to serve the public of customers and decision makers, as for the GOEIC’s website on the social networking site (Facebook), the number of followers reached (19,001), while (117) inquiries were answered on the page’s messages.
The GOEIC’s training center received (1,568) trainees during the first half of 2024, and the most important training programs include (export practice, import practice, laboratory examination of exported and imported goods in the GOEIC’s laboratories, ISO programs, training of students inside and outside the GOEIC, administrative programs to raise the efficiency of workers and other various programs)
He also provided a training course for businessmen, exporters, and those interested in the field of export on “advanced skills in managing financial and monetary export risks and developing a strategic plan for export.”
With regard to commercial registrations, (14,577) records were extracted during the first half of 2024, between new registration, renewal, and addition. The data showed the volume of business as follows:

Regarding the achievements of the General organization for Export and Import Control in the field of quality and product conformity:
1- The General organization for Export and import Control has been accredited as a type (A) accreditation, evaluation and inspection body in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012 in the field of sampling and pre-shipment inspection of finished products in the areas of:
- Paper and paper products
- Textiles and ready-made clothing
- Shoes and leather products
- Batteries
- Cooking utensils and cutlery
Thus, the GOEIC’s Product Inspection Unit is an approved and trusted body for many governments around the world in inspecting shipments and goods and ensures their conformity with national and international standard specifications, which contributes to facilitating export procedures to various countries of the world.
1-The GOEIC’s Product Inspection Unit has issued (5) certificates of conformity and (55) virtual inspection reports for contract samples.
2- (44) new tests were approved in industrial laboratories, and the scope of accreditation was also approved and extended to (90) tests in food and chemical laboratories and (500) pesticides
3-The Unit for Issuing Conformity Certificates for Products has issued (92) certificates of conformity for products, the most important of which are (detergents - textiles - shoes) and which have passed laboratory tests in the Chemical GOEIC’s laboratories.
4- A number of (102) free sale certificates were issued to Egyptian companies exporting to African and Arab countries, including (Tunisia - Morocco - Kuwait - Algeria - Saudi Arabia - Jordan - Nigeria - Brazil - Russia - UAE) for several products, including soap and personal care items.
Concluding many joint cooperation protocols with many parties with the aim of joint cooperation in transferring expertise and exchanging information, including:
- Signing a joint cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Youth Business Association to exchange experiences, provide more training and educational courses on the GOEIC’s tasks, and exchange data on foreign trade movement, with the possibility of examining contract samples of the association’s members in the GOEIC’s locally and internationally accredited laboratories.
- Signing a joint cooperation protocol with Galala National University with the aim of linking scientific research with industry through exchanging experiences in the fields of projects, scientific research, consultations, technical support, training and education, It also provides training for students and develops and raises the capabilities of human resources, which works to achieve and accelerate the pace of community development and preservation through the application of institutional partnership mechanisms.
- Signing a joint cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Commercial Representation aimed at promoting Egyptian exports abroad through the exchange of information and various experiences between the two sides with the aim of expanding export opportunities, And placing Egyptian industrial establishments on the map of international competition. This comes within the framework of activating cooperation and integration between the various arms of the Ministry to achieve the state’s plan towards sustainable economic development and facilitating the movement of trade in a way that contributes to improving Egyptian exports.Participating in many international seminars, workshops and exhibitions to communicate directly with the public, including exhibitors and visitors, and to review the services provided by the GOEIC including:
- Participating in the activities of the Exhibition for Deepening the Local Industrialization of Engineering Industries under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and in coordination with the Chamber of Engineering Industries. GOEIC reviewed its services in terms of internationally approved laboratory tests and providing certificates of conformity for products and free sale certificates, in order to promote the Egyptian product in foreign markets.
- Participation in the activities of the tenth session of the Egy Plast Exhibition and the Plastics Exhibition, where it provided its services to the audience of visitors and exhibitors during the exhibition days, the most important of which is laboratory examination of plastic and biodegradable plastic through the GOEIC’s locally and internationally accredited laboratories and other services that support the movement of export and foreign trade, especially to African countries.
- Participation in the activities of the eighteenth session of the Cairo International Leather Exhibition, in coordination with the Leather Industry Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, With the participation of many Egyptian and foreign companies in the sectors of shoes, leather products and production supplies, in order to provide support to businessmen and inform them of the latest services they provide to facilitate the movement of trade and to open new export markets for Egyptian products in global markets.
- Participation in a workshop at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology entitled “Opportunities and areas for increasing the local component in the Egyptian industrial structure” and reviewing the role of the GOEIC in supporting the competitiveness of industrial production and the services it provides to improve Egyptian exports.
- Participation in the activities of the symposium organized by the Federation of Industries to follow up on developments related to the carbon limits adjustment mechanism (CBAM), where the establishment of a laboratory to measure carbon emissions for the biodegradation of products was completed.

3- A joint meeting with the Minister of trade of Pakistan to discuss ways to enhance trade exchange between the two countries on the sidelines of the Pakistan-Africa Exhibition

8-Participation in the first consultative workshop on the national commitment aimed at freezing the consumption of hydro fluorocarbons and preparing a plan to reduce consumption organized by the National Ozone Unit of the Environmental Affairs Agency in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the United Nations Development Programme.
9- Participation in the activities of launching a project to improve the food control system in Egypt, which was launched by FAO and the Food Safety Authority with the aim of building capabilities, strengthening governance, and improving the strategic planning of the national food control system for better health and a stronger economy.

11- Meeting with the members of the General Pharmaceutical Division of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce to discuss ways of cooperation to solve any obstacles and challenges facing the pharmaceutical sector and to respond to all inquiries submitted by the members of the General Pharmaceutical Division, especially regarding the procedures for extracting the production supplies record.

18- Participation in the workshop on the project document on strengthening food control, phytosanitary capabilities and governance, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This project aims to provide technical support to activate the framework of sanitary and phytosanitary policies for Africa.
