Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, held his first expanded meeting with the leaders of the ministry and its affiliated authorities, to define the features of the next stage and set urgent work priorities that are in line with the state’s directions to support the national economy and increase investment levels and employment rates.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, the former minister, for his sincere efforts during his tenure, stressing that the next phase is based on building on these efforts and completing the path of the institutional development and continuous reform, in order to ensure tangible results for investors and citizens alike.
The Minister confirmed the importance of building a genuine partnership with investors based on trust and transparency, for boosting the productivity and creating new job opportunities.
The Minister of Investment stressed that national and foreign investors are partners in success and development, and the cooperation between the Ministry and investors forms a pillar for enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
Dr. Mohamed Farid confirmed that breaking the chains of bureaucracy that hinder production should be one of the main objectives of institutions, and should even be transformed into clear and quick procedures that facilitate the work of investors and accelerate the development process.
During the meeting, the Minister identified a set of urgent tasks and priorities, including setting a clear and specific framework for the next phase for identifying urgent priorities, and distributing roles and responsibilities among the sectors and affiliated entities, in order to ensure rapid action and achievement of practical results on the ground.
The Minister stressed that the main objective of all procedures and assignments is to achieve a tangible improvement in the level of services provided, so that the investor and the citizen feel a real difference in the streamline of procedures and speed of completion.
Dr. Mohamed Farid mandated each entity to set precise targets and link them to clear implementation procedures that are followed up on regularly. He also emphasized the necessity of digitizing all procedures to streamline workflows and reduce the time required to obtain services, thereby contributing to minimizing administrative complexities.
He demonstrated that achieving the economic targets requires full coordination and integration of roles among the ministry's sectors and affiliated authorities, working as one team. He also directed that all administrative obstacles hindering improved service efficiency be identified and addressed immediately and systematically.
The Minister stressed the need to intensify efforts to promote available investment opportunities and present them in a clearer and more attractive manner to the investors. He also stressed the importance of studying the latent potentials of exporters and working to remove obstacles that hinder their ability to access foreign markets, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.
The Minister stressed that the Ministry pays great attention to the national investor as the main pillar of the economy, in parallel with efforts to attract foreign direct investments, stressing that “everyone is a partner in development.”
He called for facilitating procedures, breaking down bureaucracy, and working immediately to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing the business community, and turning challenges into real investment opportunities through clear and easy procedures.
