General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) and Ready-Made Garments Chamber sign a Cooperation Protocol to enhance the system of textiles and technical apparel inspection.

The GOEIC signed a cooperation protocol with Ready-Made Garments and Furnishings Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, for developing areas of cooperation in examining and analyzing samples of textiles, ready-made garments and technical apparel, in order to support the quality of Egyptian products and enhance their competitiveness in regional and global markets.

The protocol was signed by Engineer Essam El-Naggar President of the GOEIC, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Chairman of Ready-Made Garments and Furnishings Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, within the framework of efforts aiming at supporting Textile and Ready-made Garments Sector and enhancing the system of technical tests for Egyptian products.

signing the protocol comes in light of the policy of Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, aimed at developing the quality system of Egyptian products and enhancing the competitiveness of export-oriented industrial sectors, in line with the State’s vision to increase exports and maximize the added value of national industry.

The protocol targets utilization of the advanced technical and laboratory capabilities owned by the GOEIC, through its specialized laboratories and qualified technical staff, to conduct the necessary tests and analyses for samples of textiles, ready-made garments and technical apparel in accordance with the latest Egyptian and International Standard.

Under the protocol, the GOEIC provides testing and analysis services for samples submitted by companies and factories that are members of the Chamber and issues technical testing reports within specific periods of time, contributing to accelerating testing procedures and raising the efficiency of the quality system for products destined for the local market or for export.

The cooperation also includes establishment of a digital mechanism for exchanging data between the two sides via a dedicated electronic platform, which enhances the efficiency of procedures and ensures the highest levels of security in handling data related to examinations and laboratory tests.

Engineer Essam El-Naggar confirmed that signing this protocol reflects the role played by the GOEIC in supporting the quality system of Egyptian products, indicating that the GOEIC has advanced laboratories equipped with the latest technologies and capable of conducting various technical tests in accordance with approved standard criteria.

He explained that cooperation with the Chamber of Ready-Made Garments and Furnishings would facilitate procedures of inspection and analysis for companies and factories operating in the sector, which would contribute to rapid circulation of products in the markets and enhance their ability to access foreign markets.

On his part, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam asserted that this cooperation represents an important step to support companies and factories operating in the ready-made garments and furnishings sector, by providing advanced inspection and analysis services that contribute to raising the quality of products and enhancing their conformity to international standards.

He denoted that the chamber permanently supports its members and expand opportunities for their products to access foreign markets, explaining that this cooperation enhances the confidence of international markets in the Egyptian product and supports plans to increase exports of ready-made garments sector during the next stage.
