Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, receives a high-level delegation from the General Company for Iraqi Exhibitions and Commercial Services and the Commercial Counselor at the Iraqi Embassy to discuss bilateral cooperation and support the trade exchange between Egypt and Iraq.

Based upon the directives of the political leadership to give the priority of exerting efforts to promote Egyptian exports and enhance their international status and competitiveness, and within the framework of strengthening economic and trade relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Iraq, Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, receives Chairman of Board of Directors of General Company for Iraqi Exhibitions and Commercial Services, Dr. Moustafa Nizar Goum'a, Mr. Riyadh Mahdi Al-Moussawi, Director General of the Commercial and Financial Control Department, the Iraqi Commercial Attaché in Cairo, and Mr. Hussein Ali Mousa, at the GOEIC's main Branch at Cairo International Airport.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Eng. Essam El-Naggar welcomed the Iraqi delegation and reviewed the services provided by the GOEIC and the laboratories' large network it owns and the Conformity Certification Units such as Product Inspection Unit 17020, Conformity Certification Unit 17065, the Environmental Validation and Verification Unit (Carbon Unit), Technical Proficiency Unit (PT), Exporters' Facilitation Unit, and the training courses provided by the GOEIC to the Business Community and courses related to International Agreements. Eng. Essam El-Naggar explained the influence of these units on the Egyptian exports and increasing their global competitiveness. He then accompanied the delegation on a tour to the GEOIC's various chemical, food and industrial laboratories that greatly admired by the Iraqi side due to their development and progress compared to the international laboratories.

 

Eng. Essam El-Naggar added that Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade is committed to provide full support to the exporters' community and the GOEIC's role, which represents a very principal pivot within the Ministry's strategy to promote and develop the foreign trade and achieve the Ministry's plan to increase the value of exports to more than $100 billion annually.

 

Dr. Moustafa Nizar Goum'a, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Company for Iraqi Exhibitions and Commercial Services, indicated that the visit aims to know more about the nature of the GOEIC's work and its technical laboratories, including specialized testing laboratories, in addition to discussing mechanisms for accreditation of the mutual documents between Iraq and Egypt, which would contribute to facilitating the trade exchange between the two countries. The two parties agreed to open up new horizons for cooperation in the fields of technical training and making use of the Egyptian expertise in this field, in addition to enhancing joint coordination regarding International Agreements regulating the trade.
