(36%) decrease in the value of Egyptian non-petroleum imports during July 2020 compared to July 2019

M.G. Ismael Gaber - Chairman of GOEIC announced that GOEIC had issued its comparative monthly report for the Egyptian non-petroleum imports during July 2020 which showed a decrease in the Egyptian non- petroleum imports with value (2.343) billion dollars (36%) compared to July 2019, that the value of the Egyptian non- petroleum imports during July 2020 reached (4.239) billion dollars versus (6.582) billion dollars during July 2019.

Where the report illuminates a decrease in value of the imports of (12) sectors, starting with the imports of “spinning and weaving” with remarkable decreasing value to record (178) million dollars during July 2020 compared to (344) million dollars in July 2019 with value decreasing (48%), Then came the imports of “handmade industries with value (22) million dollars during July 2020 compared to (42) billion dollars in July 2019 with value decreasing (47%).

The imports of “Engineering and electronic products” reached (1.109) billion dollars during July 2020 compared to (1.987) billion dollars in July 2019 with value decreasing(44%),  the imports of “leather and shoes recorded the decrease  in its imports with value (11)million dollars in July 2020 versus (20) million dollars during the same period of the previous year with decreasing value(43%), and also decreasing in the imports of “building materials” to become (559) million dollars during July 2020 compared to (936) million dollars during July 2019 with decreasing value(40%), also decreasing  in the imports of ”Chemicals and Fertilizers Products” to be (689) million dollars during July 2020 versus (1.080) billion dollars during July 2019 with decreasing value(36%).

Then the decreasing in the imports of “Furniture”, “Medical industry” ,”packaging ,papers ,books ,artistic classifications” ,“Agricultural Crops”, ”Food stuff industries”, “Furnishings andreadymade clothes”.
