President of the GOEIC participates in AHK Egypt (German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce) Logistics events.
Engineer Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOIEC, participated in the first panel discussion held within the activities of AHK Egypt Logistics, entitle “Egypt is the gateway to global trade, connecting continents through innovation” with the participation of a number of leaders of government agencies and the private sector concerned with the trade, logistics and ports system.
The panel moderated by Marwan El Shazly, Vice President of Marketing and Contracts at Pan Marine Group, addressed the most prominent current challenges facing the logistics sector in light of global changes and disruptions to supply chains and maritime routes, in addition to reviewing the efforts made to enhance the resilience of Egyptian ports and raise the efficiency of trade movement.
The Panel was attended by Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Rear Admiral Dr. Rafik Galal, CEO of Damietta Containers and Cargo Handling Company, Ahmed Amouy, Head of Egyptian Customs Authority, and Engineer Essam El-Naggar, President of the General Organization for Export and Import Control.
The discussions confirmed the importance of developing risk management system and relying on data analysis during the process of decreasing the release time, reducing costs and accelerating goods movement, in addition to the role of the facilitating procedures and the digital transformation in supporting the smooth flow of trade and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian Ports.
The Panel also highlighted the importance of diversifying supply chains and trends of the manufacturing close to markets, which enhances Egypt’s position as a regional center for trade and logistics, especially in light of Egypt’s strategic geographical location and its ability to connect continents and global markets.
Participation of the GOEIC in this event comes within the framework of its pivotal role in supporting the foreign trade system, facilitating the movement of exports and imports, and enhancing the quality and efficiency of services provided to the business community, in line with the directions of the Egyptian state towards developing the institutional and digital infrastructure of the trade and logistics system.
