Arab Republic of Egypt Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade General Organization for Export and Import Control

Within the framework of the policies of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade aimed at developing the inspection and testing system and improving the quality of laboratory services provided to the business community, and in implementation of the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, the General Organization for Export and Import Control succeeded in renewing and extending the scope of accreditation of the Technical Proficiency Testing Unit.

The renewal and expansion process resulted in the number of programs offered by the unit reaching 23 accredited programs, in accordance with the requirements of the International Standard ISO/IEC 17043:2023 with respect to general competence of proficiency testing program providers.

Engineer Essam El Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, affirmed that this achievement comes within the GOEIC's ongoing plan to develop the laboratory system and enhance the application of international standards, in such way that supports the accuracy and reliability of test results and raises the efficiency of the technical performance of the participating laboratories.

Proficiency testing programs contribute to evaluating laboratory performance and verifying their ability to produce accurate and reliable results by comparing results and measuring technical performance levels according to internationally-recognized standards and criteria.

Renewal and expansion of accreditation reflects GOEIC's commitment to develop its technical capabilities, strengthen its quality management system, and enhance confidence in its testing and inspection services, thereby supporting foreign trade and increasing competitiveness of Egyptian products in the international markets
