He touched upon the various services provided by the GOEIC, in addition to the implementation of the Carbon Footprint Report within the framework of the European Union's implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism starting in January 2026, which will be calculated according to unified global standards. CBAM is an abbreviation for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, which is a carbon tax on imports imposed by the European Union on certain imported goods from outside the Union. The sectors that will be focused on initially as a first phase are: aluminum, fertilizers, iron and steel, electricity, and hydrogen.

They explained that to export to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, several procedures must be completed, the most important of which are: submitting a technical file, inspecting the products, registering on the “Saber” electronic platform, paying the required fees, and obtaining conformity certificates.
During the workshop, members of the Port Said Chamber of Commerce presented all their inquiries and suggestions in an open discussion with Eng. Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, who responded to a number of them during the workshop and promised to study a number of other issues and find solutions for them.
