The GOEIC's Product Inspection Unit 17020 (PIU) conducts a pre-shipment inspection (PSI), in accordance with contractual requirements, for the second shipment of marble exported from Arab Republic of Egypt to Brazil.

Conducted the inspection in two stages

First stage: On Saturday, September 6, 2025, the shipment was inspected pursuant to the contractual requirements agreed upon between the exporter and importer.

Second stage: On Saturday September 27, 2025, the supervision of loading containers and placing the sealing for Unit 17020 was carried out, and accordingly, the inspection was carried out at the Stone Castle Marble Factory headquarters in Shaq El-Tabban.

It is worth noting that the Product Inspection Unit (PIU) includes the following accreditation areas:

  • Electrical household appliances (including washing machines, fans, water heaters and irons).
  • Ceramics and marble (including ceramics and marble)
  • Kitchen sinks and sanitary products (including kitchen sinks and washbasins)
  • Plastic and plastic products (including plastic toilet lids and plastic bags)
  • Watches (including water-resistant watches and diving watches)
  • Paper and paper products (including facial, toilet, kitchen, and feminine sanitary napkins) according to Egyptian and International Standards.
  • Textiles and ready-made garments (including textiles, ready-made garments and carpets) pursuant to Egyptian and International Standards.
  • Footwear (including footwear, sports shoes, safety shoes, and military boots) according to Egyptian and International Standards.
  • Leather products (such as bags, wallets, and leather belts) according to Egyptian and International Standards.
  • Batteries (including acid and dry batteries) according to Egyptian and International Standards.
  • Cooking utensils and tableware (including aluminum cooking utensils, stainless steel cooking utensils, enameled cooking utensils, pressure cookers and tableware) according to Egyptian and International Standards.

It is worth noting that Product Inspection Unit 17020 covers the following processes:

First: Pre-shipment inspection

The PIU issues Inspection Certificates for Egyptian products exported from te Arab Republic of Egypt to foreign countries. It also issues Inspection Certificates for leather shoes, bags, clothing, ready-made garments, furnishings, carpets, and floor coverings exported to Arab Republic of Egypt in accordance with Ministerial Decree No. 961. In addition, the PIU issues Pre-shipment Inspection Certificates for industrial projects in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) and industrial projects in free zones in various governorates.

Second: Inspection based on the request of international trade parties (purchasers/ sellers/ manufacturers):

The Product Inspection Unit provides inspection services in accordance with contractual requirements to ensure that exported products meet the contractual agreements, whereas the products are inspected for quantity, quality, and other characteristics for reducing the risk of non-compliance with the contractual agreements.

Third: Visual inspection of contract samples

The Product Inspection Unit provides inspection services in accordance with contractual requirements to ensure that exported products meet contractual agreements. Products are inspected for quantity, quality, and other characteristics to reduce the risk of non-compliance.
