Staff Rear Admiral/Tariq Adly Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Damietta Port Authority, receives Eng. Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, during his visit to Damietta Port to inspect the GOEIC's branch laboratories at the port to enhance joint cooperation.

Within the framework of the State’s directives to develop the foreign trade system and enhance integration among the entities operating in the Egyptian ports, Staff Rear Admiral/ Tarek Adly Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Damietta Port Authority, received Major General Engineer Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, and his accompanying delegation, during a field visit to inspect the laboratories of the GOEIC's branch at Damietta Port.

The visit was attended by Engineer/ Al-Saeed Abu Al-Saud, Chief of GOEIC's Central Department at Damietta Port, along with a number of leaders of regulatory bodies operating at the port, Head of the Damietta Investors Association, and Chief of Central Department of Damietta Customs, as part of the ongoing coordination between the various authorities concerned with the work system within the port.

The visit included an inspection tour inside GOEIC's laboratories, where advanced technical and technological capabilities of the laboratories were reviewed, and its role in carrying out inspection and analysis work for imported and exported goods and commodities, ensuring their conformity to the approved standards and technical requirements, and contributing to protection of the local market and supporting the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.

President of the GOEIC also followed up on the work procedures inside the laboratories, applicable inspection and control mechanisms, in addition to the efforts exerted to accelerate the work cycle and simplify procedures, in line with the state’s directions towards digital transformation and reducing customs clearance time, which supports the smooth flow of trade and enhances the investment climate.

During the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of continued cooperation and joint coordination between the Damietta Port Authority, the General Organization for Export and Import Control, and all relevant authorities, in order to achieve institutional integration, raise the efficiency of the goods release system, and support the state’s efforts to promote the foreign trade.

On his part, Major General Engineer/ Essam El-Naggar praised the continuous development of the infrastructure and logistics services at Damietta Port, stressing that integration between the entities operating at the port is one of the main axes for achieving smooth goods trading and raising the efficiency of regulatory performance.

Staff Rear Admiral/ Tarek Adly Abdullah affirmed Damietta Port Authority’s keenness to provide various forms of support and cooperation with regulatory bodies, which contributes to accelerating procedures and achieving the highest performance rates. He pointed out that the port operates according to an integrated vision aimed at enhancing its position as a pivotal logistics center serving regional and international trade.
