Under the auspices of Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, a new international Accreditation has been added to enhance the position of the GEOIC's laboratories regionally and internationally and to support national exports. This is achieved through passing the first assessment visit by the Miscellaneous Testing Laboratories for Metal Goods affiliated to the Central Department for Quality Testing Laboratories for Industrial Goods, headed by Eng. Ahmed Farag, Head of the Central Department of Testing Laboratories for Industrial and Engineering Goods, and with the participation of engineers from the Miscellaneous Testing Laboratories for Metal Goods.
The first periodic follow-up was successfully passed for (6) laboratories, with a total of (20) approved tests:
- Tensile Testing Laboratory (60 tons) passed the tensile test for steel products, considered as one of the vital tests for ensuring the strength and durability of metal materials used in industry.
- Laboratory of household appliances using liquefied petroleum gases
Successfully passed (5) tests related to the safety of using gas in water heaters and cooking appliances, including:
- Cylinder valve tightness
- Gas circuit integrity
- Oven door strength
- Tilt test
- Gas circuit tightness
- Cookware and tableware laboratory
passed (5) important tests, including measuring dimensions, capacity, thickness, tightness, and height of aluminum and aluminum alloy cookware, ensuring the safety of these products for use at homes and at restaurants.
- Industrial and Automotive Belts Factory
Passed two specialized technical tests:
This laboratory is the only one in the Middle East approved for ozone testing, making it as a regional reference in this field.
- Metal Sheets and Pipes Laboratory
passed two tests of measuring the weight and thickness of zinc and alloy plating layer, to ensure corrosion resistance and industrial quality.
- Basins and Pipe Fittings Laboratory
Passed (5) basic tests including:
- Water drainage
- Dry heat resistance
- Chemical resistance
- Thickness and outer diameter measurement of copper pipes for air conditioning and refrigeration
Extending accreditation for the first time to a number of laboratories for new and advanced tests:
- Cookware and Tableware Laboratory
Two new tests have been added:
- Handle durability and heat resistance to ensure safety in everyday use.
- Sink and Pipe Fittings Laboratory
Adding two new tests for face basins:
- Water drainage
- chemical resistance and color change
- Industrial and automotive belt laboratory
Major expansion with the addition of four new tests, including:
- Tensile testing
- water resistance
- Hardness
- High temperature resistance enhances the laboratory's ability to evaluate the quality of industrial products related to automobiles and transportation.
- Accreditation of the pressure laboratory and rationalizing water consumption for the first time:
This laboratory is one of the most modern laboratories in the Middle East, specialized in testing the performance of water mixers, faucets, and water conservation tools.
The following tests have been approved:
Maximum and minimum rates of flow for all types of mixers, faucets, bidets, showers, and valves. Manufacturing alloys are also tested to ensure they are free of harmful or carcinogenic substances, enhancing public health and protecting consumers.
This achievement reflects:
- The GOEIC's commitment to implementing the highest International Quality Standards
- Supporting Egyptian industrial competitiveness
- Opening new doors for exports through international recognition of products technical conformity
- Achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 in the areas of innovation, exports, and environmental health.
