Ismael Gaber, the chairman of GOEIC announced that the accreditation granted to "Food Testing Labs of GOEIC – Port Saied branch" has been renewed by EGAC (Egyptian Accreditation Council) in the field of some chemical tests for food, feeds and toys, estimation of some pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables, estimation of Cadmium and Lead in glass and ceramics vessels in contact with food, and some microbiological tests for food and feeds. This will be according to the requirements of the international standard (ISO/IEC 17025/2017), and until the end of the accreditation cycle on the 30th of June, 2024. This will allow the laboratories to use the Council accreditation logo in accordance with the Council's work rules no (R4G).

GOEIC is also following up on the latest executive position concerning the memorandums of understanding signed between Egypt and (Tunisia – Jordan – Kuwait – Saudi Arabia – Lebanon – Sudan – Bahrain – Oman – Somalia & Senegal - Agadir Agreement States) in the field of mutual recognition of Conformity certificates for the industrial (not food) goods.
