Under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Trade, Eng. Ahmed Samir, the National Accreditation Council held an awareness workshop for stakeholder bodies on the role of the National Accreditation Council in the development of accreditation and conformity assessment infrastructure in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The General Organization for Export and Import Control, headed by Engineer Essam Al-Naggar, the Chairman of GOEIC, participated in the presence of both M. Hany Aldsouqi - Executive Director of the National Accreditation Council and Dr. Khaled Sofi - Chairman of the Egyptian Organization for Standardization & Quality and Dr. Noha Emad - Executive Director of the National Institute of Standards.
Eng.Essam Al-Naggar explained the usefulness of the General Organization for Export and Import Control as a supervisory body of the National Council for Accreditation, Egyptian Organization for Standardization & the National Institute of Standards.
Eng.Essam Al-Naggar also reviewed the role of GOEIC and functions as a monitoring body for the qualitative inspection of industrial and non-industrial imports and the departments responsible for testing and examination such as the central administration of chemical and food testing laboratories as an inspection Labs "Physical examinations - grains - microbiology - fertilizer - biodegradable plastics - petroleum oils - etc. and the Central Management of Quality Testing Plant for Industrial Goods as Inspection Labs "Electrical Goods - Batteries - Lighting Units - Intensity Tests - Household Appliances - Pumps - Tires & Spots etc. ".
His Excellency reviewed a statement on the laboratories of the General Organization for Export and Import Control at the level of the Arab Republic of Egypt's governorates.
His sovereignty answered during the discussion on how to use accreditation criteria in both exports and imports to facilitate trade exchange? Referring to the conformity certificates unit of GOEIC and the activities mandated to grant the certification of Saber and the items registered in the platform and the certification of the free sale certificate and the future plan of the unit to expand its field, he noted the issuance of more than 100 certificates over four months. At the end of the session, the National Accreditation Council thanked Eng. Essam Al-Naggar for his happiness and continued support.
