Achievements of the authorities and sectors affiliating to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade during the period from 2014 to 2025

General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC)

• The number of shipments displayed until the first quarter of 2025 is 2,017,882 shipments.
• The number of industrial import shipments was 1,383,398 shipments, 1,354,793 of which were accepted and 28,605 were rejected.
• The number of non-industrial import shipments was 634,484 shipments, 620,759 shipments were accepted, and 13,725 shipments were rejected.
• 3,328,213 shipments were examined, including 2,085,696 food and chemical samples and 1,242,517 industrial samples.
• Issuing 412 product conformity certificates for the Saudi Saber system.
• Issuing more than 390 Free Sale Certificates to Egyptian exporting companies.
• Issue of 3651611 Certificates of Origin.
• The Center of Excellence received 27,319 trainees.
• Extracting 296,868 records, including new registrations, renewals, and addition, including: 138,438 importer records, 77,353 exporter records, 20,430 commercial agents and foreign offices records, 43,385 production requirements records, 12,057 real estate brokerage records, and 5,205 advertising and publicity records.
• The GOEIC has made many achievements in the field of establishing and developing laboratories at the GOEIC's branches in Aswan, Cairo Airport, Dekheila Port in Alexandria, and chemical laboratories in the GOEIC's branches in Nuweiba Port, Port Said, Damietta, Adabiya, and Suez.
• Establishing the first Biodegradation Testing Lab in the Middle East.
• Opening a number of the state-of- -art laboratories for testing in various fields, such as energy efficiency testing for electric motors, measuring optical and electrical tests, and fire-fighting capacity, as well as for testing batteries for electric vehicles, in GOEIC's several branches.
• Environmental Validation and Verification Unit and establishment of the first Biodegradation Testing Lab.
• Commencing equipment of a group of laboratories in the 6th of October Dry Port in terms of infrastructure.
• Establishing the first government Product Conformity Certification Unit according to international specifications ISO/IEC17065.
• The GOEIC has been accredited as an accreditation, assessment and inspection body of Type A in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC17020:2012.
• The GOEIC is registered in a number of official bodies as an accreditation, assessment and certification body in a number of sectors.
• Developing services provided to the business community in issuing the real estate brokerage register and the advertising and publicity register.
• Signing a Memorandum of Understanding to begin implementing the Korean Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) project with respect to establishing and developing the GOEIC's integrated risk management system.
• The GOEIC supports the $100 billion presidential initiative for exports by participating in numerous international exhibitions and conferences and concluding numerous joint cooperation protocols aimed at jointly transferring expertise and exchanging information.
• Establishing a qualified center of excellence to prepare human cadres to be the nucleus for future construction and development.
• Reducing the customs release time from 7 days to 2 days.
