Engineer Essam El Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, witnessed the events along with a number of leaders of the entities and authorities affiliated with the Ministry and representatives of the business and export community.
The second round comes as a continuation of the first stop that started from Gharbia Governorate, within a path that target moving between governorates and reaching companies in their locations, identify their needs, and provide them with information, services and export opportunities, while developing the components of the initiative and adding new partners and services according to the nature of each governorate and the requirements of the companies.
Port Said station witnessed the participation of about 126 companies from the textile, engineering, chemical, food, construction and building sectors, reflecting the diversity of the industrial base in the governorate and the interest of the business community in benefiting from the opportunities and services provided by the initiative.
Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh affirmed that "Egypt Exports" initiative represents a continuous path to reach companies inside governorates, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, regarding increasing exports, expanding the base of exporters, and enhancing competitiveness of the Egyptian product, referring that the initiative aims to directly identify the needs of companies and support them in their export journey.
The minister explained that the initiative is originated from the message “It is your right to know” that allows each company to learn about markets, export opportunities, trade agreements, required specifications, and support programs, in addition to the services provided by the ministry’s affiliated bodies, including the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC).
Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh stressed that the target is not limited to increasing the number of exporters, but extends to enhancing knowledge of "exporting knowhow", ensuring the continuity of companies in the markets, increasing their exports, and helping them accessing new markets.
On his part, Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Port Said, affirmed that the governorate possesses integrated capabilities to support increasing the production, maximize exports, and open new markets for Egyptian products, in light of its strategic location including the ports, industrial and logistical zones, as well as diverse investment opportunities. He emphasized the governorate's support for serious investments and national industries capable of competing and exporting.
Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh, President of Port Said University, affirmed that the university is a genuine partner in development, knowledge production, and economic value, and that it places its scientific, research, and human capabilities at the service of the export system, through enhancing integration with the state institutions, production and business sectors, contributing to capacity building, and serving the business community.
In this context, the participation of the GOEIC, headed by Engineer Essam El-Naggar, comes within the framework of its role within the foreign trade system, and to introduce the business community to the services, requirements and procedures related to exporting, that supports the readiness of companies to access foreign markets and enhances the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.
The Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade pointed out that Port Said was chosen for the second station because of its export and industrial base and its logistical and commercial capabilities, explaining that the governorate’s exports amounted to about $6.7 billion during the period from January 2021 to May 2026, representing about 3% of total Egyptian non-petroleum exports.
The initiative aims, through its tours inside governorates, to bring new companies into the exporting community, increase the exports of existing companies, enhance their continuity in foreign markets, and open new markets for Egyptian products, in support of the state’s objectives to develop foreign trade and increase exports.
