As a part of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade’s directions towards strengthening the partnership with the Business Community, supporting the competitiveness of Egyptian exports, and developing the foreign trade system, Eng. Essam El Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, participated in an extensive meeting organized by Customs Committee of Alexandria Businessmen Association, in the presence of Engineer Medhat El Qadi, Chairman of the Association, members of the Board of Directors, and representatives of the Business Community from exporters and importers.
During the meeting, Engineer Essam El Naggar reviewed GOEIC's efforts in developing the work system, reducing customs release time, raising the efficiency of the inspection and control system, and expanding digital services, which contributes to facilitating the trade and supporting the access of Egyptian companies to foreign markets.
The meeting also included an open dialogue with representatives of the Business Community, during which the most prominent challenges facing exporters and importers were reviewed, and a number of proposals prepared by the Association were discussed, which included developing risk management system, enhancing digital transformation, improving data quality, and standardizing the procedures, in order to contribute to raising the efficiency of services provided to customers.
Engineer Essam El Naggar stressed GOEIC's keenness to continue direct communication with the Business Community and to listen to the proposals of the Private Sector, as it is a key partner in developing the foreign trade system, noting that the GOEIC continues implementing its plans to modernize services and develop work mechanisms, in order to achieve a balance between facilitating trade and tightening the control system, and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.
The meeting was concluded by emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between the GOEIC and Alexandria Business Association, in support of the State's efforts to improve the investment climate, develop the foreign trade system, and achieve the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030.
