The Ministers of Investment and Industry witnessed signing four Cooperation Agreements and a program to support quality certificates with funding of 557 million EGP to enhance the access of Egyptian products to global markets.

Engineer Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, participated in the ceremony of launching a package of initiatives and programs led by the Industrial Modernization Center to support competitiveness of Egyptian industry and promote exports, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Engineer Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, along with a number of leaders of the two ministries, heads of government authorities, and representatives of the industrial sector and export councils.

The events witnessed signing of four cooperation agreements between the Industrial Modernization Center and the Export Development Fund, Hassan Allam Group, EL Square Company, and the National Railway Industries Company (NERC), with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of Egyptian industrial companies, developing local suppliers, supporting digital transformation and smart manufacturing, and increasing the compatibility of Egyptian products with international standards.

The agreements comprised a program to support industrial companies in obtaining quality, conformity, sustainability and environmental compliance certificates, with funding of 557 million EGP from the Export Development Fund, aimed at supporting about 200 industrial facilities in a number of key export sectors, with expectations of increasing the exports of the beneficiary companies by a percentage ranging between 20 and 25% as a result of improving quality levels and compliance with international standards.

Dr. Mohamed Farid confirmed that improving the quality of Egyptian products according to international standards represents an investment in the future of the national economy, and not a burden on producers. He indicated that the state is working on reformulating the export development system by simplifying procedures, providing technical and financial support tools, and expanding the establishment of local accreditation laboratories to reduce the cost of obtaining international certificates and accelerate the access of Egyptian products to global markets.

During a press conference, Engineer Khaled Hashem also reviewed the pillars of the Egyptian Industry Strategy 2030, which aims to raise industrial exports to $100 billion, with a focus on high value-added industries, deepening local manufacturing, application of digital transformation, and enhancing integration with global production chains.

Participation of Engineer Essam El-Naggar in these events comes within the framework of the role played by the GOEIC in supporting the quality system of Egyptian exports, facilitating access of national products to foreign markets, and enhancing integration between the entities concerned with the development of foreign trade and industry.
