The General Organization for Export and Import Control announced launching the “Smart Assistant” service, based upon Artificial Intelligence technologies, in cooperation with Spectrum Information Systems Company.
Engineer Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, confirmed that the launch of the new service comes within the framework of the GOEIC's plan to update the digital services system, and to facilitate access to information and services for exporters, importers and traders in a faster, more efficient and accurate manner, which contributes to improving the business environment and supporting the competitiveness of Egyptian foreign trade.
He demonstrated that the “Smart Assistant” provides an immediate response to customer inquiries around the clock, seven days a week, which contributes to reducing the time taken to obtain information and services with no need to wait or communicate directly with customer service staff.
He pointed out that the new service provides a comprehensive set of electronic services, including following up on complaints and inquiries submitted by customers, instant inquiry about the status of registered applications, in addition to the possibility of booking appointments in advance at the commercial registration departments, which contributes to organizing the movement of visitors and reducing overcrowding inside the GOEIC's premises.
He added that the program also allows for the electronic request for foreign trade reports, with the ability to specify the required time periods and obtain the reports directly, as well as providing the latest ministerial decisions and regulatory publications issued by the authority as soon as they are issued, thus ensuring that accurate information is received from its official source.
As part of the GOEIC's support for developing the capabilities of employees and clients in the foreign trade sector, the “Smart Assistant” provides services to identify available training courses at the Authority’s Center of Excellence, and to make them available for online booking, in addition to providing interactive support and guidance for the steps of registration in the pre-inspection system, explaining the required documents, and answering common questions related to export and import procedures.
The GOEIC confirmed that the program was developed in accordance with the highest cybersecurity standards to protect customer data, relying on an integrated knowledge base that is continuously updated from various sectors of the authority, ensuring the provision of accurate and up-to-date information on an ongoing basis.
