Eng. Essam El Naggar, President of the GOEIC, received Mr. Jiang Qianliang, Director General of the Bureau of Industry, Security and Import and Export Control (BISIEC) of Chinese Ministry of Commerce, as each one of them headed a high-level delegation from both sides, within the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of export and import control.
During the meeting, President of the GOEIC reviewed the applicable regulatory work system, particularly with respect to the inspection of industrial and non-food goods, procedures for verifying conformity to the standard specifications, risk management mechanisms, and the digital transformation and data exchange system, in order to achieve the balance between facilitating trade and tightening the control.
The two sides also discussed ways of enhancing technical cooperation and exchanging best practices in the areas of pre-inspection and digital tracking of shipments, and support for the capabilities of laboratories and technical personnel, as well as exploring mechanisms of accelerating the procedures and reducing customs release time, in order to support the business community and enhance the competitiveness of products in international markets.
Both sides affirmed the significance of continuing the technical coordination and intensifying direct communication channels among specialists, in order to enhance mutual trust and support the sustainability of trade relations between Arab Republic of Egypt and the People’s Republic of China.
This meeting comes within the framework of the GOEIC’s strategy to develop the foreign trade system and raise the efficiency of services provided to export and import community, in consistency with the State’s direction towards improving the business environment and strengthening international economic partnerships.
