The Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade stressed that this project goes beyond being a mere infrastructure project, representing a vivid embodiment of Egypt's will for building a strong, forward-looking economy. Al-Khatib said, "We are not merely opening laboratories, but rather launching a new phase of confidence and sending a strong message to the global investment community: Egypt now owns an infrastructure for the quality that competes major global centers. This system is the driving force for the Suez Canal Economic Zone as it grants exporters an international passport to access their exports to the international markets and ends the era of exorbitant costs and the reliance on external testing laboratories. It is a basic foundation of our ambitious strategy in order that our exports reach $145 billion by 2030."
On his part, Engineer Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, explained the qualitative capabilities of the system established on an area of 2,000 square meters, and includes a main building consisting of two floors that includes (31) industrial laboratories at a total cost of 402.796 million pounds.
He added that the system represents a qualitative leap in the inspection field, as 153 highly accurate laboratory tests are conducted in areas that considered the basic of the industry and citizens' lives, most notably ensuring the safety of automotive components and ensuring the efficiency and safety of devices.
