The Tax and Customs Committee of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, chaired by Mohamed El-Bahy, held its twenty-fourth meeting during the session of the Governing Council of the Federation 2021-2025 with officials of the Ministry of Finance, Industry and Trade to discuss the problems facing companies during the recent period.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, Al-Shahat Ghaturi, Head of the Customs Authority, Ibrahim Al-Segini, Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry for Economic Affairs, Dr. Amani Al-Wasal, Head of the Agreements and Foreign Trade Sector, and a number of leaders of the Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian Customs Authority.
The meeting dealt with discussing the pending problems that were previously discussed in previous meetings, in addition to the requests of the members representing the chambers.
Some issues related to customs distortions resulting from the increase in the customs tax for production requirements on some items of the finished product were also discussed, in preparation for presenting them to the Higher Committee for Customs Tariff to address the impact of these distortions.
