Under the auspices of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, held the ninth Akhbar Al-Youm conference with the participation of many ministers, heads of agencies, investors and businessmen.

Eng. Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, participated in the conference titled (Industry and Investment- Start- Go), which began with a short documentary film about the conference.

The conference will discuss the challenges of industry and investment in light of the unprecedented challenges facing global economies at the present time, in addition to discussing partnership opportunities between the public and private sectors, the future of the public business sector, financing mechanisms, maximizing the added value and optimal exploitation of Egypt's wealth and its distinguished geographical location.

The ninth year of the conference discusses a number of hot files on the scene at the present time, foremost of which is the national initiative for the development of Egyptian industry, “Ibdaa – Start”, which achieved great successes in a short period.

The sessions dealt with ways to advance the national industry and investment policies during the coming period to deepen the local product and reduce import rates, as well as maximizing development in Sinai and investing in promising opportunities in the region.

Eng. Essam Al-Naggar participated in the activities of the first session of the conference, which bears the name of Industrial and Investment Policy between Reality and Aspiration, chaired by Representative Muhammad Abu Al-Anein and Dr. Muhammad Muhit, Minister of Finance, Eng. Muhammad Abdel-Karim, Chairman of the Industrial Development Authority, and Mr. Hussam Ahmed Haiba, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment. All participated in the session as well. From the House of Representative Moataz Mohamed Mahmoud, Chairman of the Industry Committee in the House of Representatives, and Eng. Khaled Abu Al-Makarem, Chairman of the Export Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers. The session discussed the challenges of industry, investment and financing, the future of green energy, financial and monetary policies, and the repercussions of financial crises, in addition to strengthening the role of exports and support programs, repaying burdens, supporting the competitiveness of the local product, and reducing the import bill.
