Port Said branch’s quality testing laboratories for industrial goods have achieved a new milestone by obtaining accreditation and renewal of the accreditation by Egypt’s Accreditation Council (EGAC) in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, as part of the GOEIC’s continuous efforts to develop the laboratories system and raise its technical efficiency in a way that contributes to enhancing competitiveness of Egyptian products and increasing confidence in inspection and testing services.
The accreditation included the renewal of accreditation of six existing laboratories: Leather and Footwear Lab, Batteries Lab, the Locks Lab, Water Pumps Lab, Electric Motors Lab, and Timing Belts Lab, in addition to accreditation of two new Labs for the first time, which are Audio and Video Lab and Home Appliances Lab.
This raised the total scope of accreditation to 29 accredited tests, including 19 previously accredited tests, in addition to 10 new tests added during the current accreditation cycle, including specialized tests in the fields of leather, footwear, electric motors, electrical safety, batteries, and timing belts, as well as including enlisting tests for the first time in the audio-visual and home appliances laboratories.
This achievement reflects the GOEIC’s commitment to implementing international best practices in conformity assessment and developing the capabilities of its technical laboratories, in such way that supports the national industry and contributes to facilitating access for Egyptian products to regional and international markets.
