As a part of the directives of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to support the green transition and promote sustainability and environmental governance standards, and in implementation of the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, regarding the development of technical services provided by the GOEIC and expanding its role in supporting the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy, Mr. Mohamed El-Sayed, Head of the Support Departments Sector at Al-Ahly Financial Investments Management Company, and Mr. Abdullah Wafiq, Compliance and Governance Officer at the company, received the statement of verification of Greenhouse Gas emissions inventory measurements issued by GOEIC's Environmental Validation and Verification Unit (EVVU).
The statement was issued in implementation of Regulatory Decision No. (36) of 2026 issued by the Financial Regulatory Authority, that obliges companies operating in non-banking financial activities to disclose their carbon emissions and compensate for them in support of the green economy and to reduce the carbon footprint.
The GOEIC is the first validation and verification body accredited by the Financial Regulatory Authority in this field, through GOEIC's Environmental Validation and Verification Unit (EVVU), which has obtained international accreditation from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC)in many industrial fields, products and facilities, consequently its statements of verification will obtain international recognition that ensures its acceptance at the local and global levels.
