Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, held a meeting with the leaders of Vodafone Egypt to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the areas of digitization, digital transformation, and the development of technological solutions that contribute to improving the efficiency of services and facilitating procedures.
The Minister confirmed that the ministry is working to expand the application of digital solutions and link relevant authorities electronically, that will contribute to accelerating procedures and reducing time and cost for investors and clients, referring to the importance of cooperation with the Private Sector to benefit from modern technological expertise in developing government services.
The meeting was attended by Engineer Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, Dr. Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, Head of the Egyptian Trade Representation Authority, along with Mr. Mohamed Ayad, Assistant Minister of Investment, Engineer Sherif Yahya, Assistant Minister of Investment for Digital Transformation Affairs, Dr. Yasmine Yamani, Assistant Minister Office for Development and Digital Transformation, Mahmoud El-Khatib, Vice President of Vodafone Egypt for Business Sector, and a delegation from Vodafone Egypt.
On its part, Vodafone Egypt leaders reviewed a number of digital solutions for connecting trade stakeholders and developing electronic services, stressing the company’s keenness to support the state’s efforts in the areas of digitization, digital transformation and automation of government services.
Discussions also tackled imposing the cooperation in automating the trade system and participating in the regulatory laboratory for foreign trade that the ministry plans to launch in the coming period.
