Arab Republic of Egypt Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade General Organization for Export and Import Control

Within the framework of the Egyptian State’s directions towards strengthening the International Cooperation and facilitating the foreign trade, and based on the policies of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade that support the investment climate and attract foreign investments, and the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Investment, Dr. Mohamed Farid, Engineer Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, received Mr. Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Arab Republic of Egypt, in a friendly visit to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and develop economic and trade relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the importance of supporting economic partnerships between Egypt and Sweden was emphasized, along with strengthening cooperation in inspection and control, and exchanging technical expertise. The GOEIC received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden in Cairo, whereas they discussed ways to enhance the trade cooperation and exchanged the visions on developing joint work mechanisms to support the smooth flow of trade and investment, in accordance with the best international practices, and to contribute to raising the efficiency of the foreign trade system and facilitating procedures for the business community.

The discussions also addressed a number of topics related to enhancing the smooth flow of exports and imports, and exploring mechanisms to support foreign companies operating in the Egyptian market, in order to improve the efficiency of procedures and facilitate the trade, within the framework of transparency and constructive institutional cooperation.

President of the GOEIC stressed the GOEIC's eagerness to enhance continuous communication with the international partners and provide the necessary technical support, in order to support the increase of foreign investments and enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy, in implementation of the State’s vision towards achieving sustainable economic development.

This visit comes in the context of strengthening cooperation relations with partner countries, which contributes to facilitating trade and supporting the international economic integration.
