Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, witnessed ceremony of signing a Cooperation Protocol between the Ministry and the GOEIC at the Ministry's premises in the New Administrative Capital, in the attendance of Eng. Essam Mahmoud El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC. 

The protocol aims at conducting the laboratory tests necessary to the sporting goods and products whether imported or locally manufactured, ensuring their compliance with Egyptian and International Standards and preserving health and safety of Egypt's youth who participate in sports activities.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy emphasized that signing the protocol comes within the framework of the Ministry's strategy to protect sports consumers and support the domestic market with high-quality products. He indicated that cooperation with the GOEIC reflects the state's commitment to implement the highest standards of quality and control in various fields.

The Minister of Youth and Sports said that " signing the Cooperation Protocol with the GOEIC comes within the framework of the Ministry's commitment to ensuring the quality of sports products and ensuring their compliance with the standards, in such way that preserves health and safety of Egypt's youth who practice sports activities."

The Minister of Youth and Sports added that cooperation with the GOEIC represents an important step toward strengthening the control on the products whether they are imported and locally manufactured, contributing to the provision of safe and reliable sports equipment and supplies, that support practicing sports according to the highest quality standards.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy emphasized that the state seeks, through these partnerships, to achieve integration among national institutions, contributing to serving the community, protecting the domestic market, and supporting national industries. He noted that the Ministry of Youth and Sports always prioritizes the interests of youth and athletes and works to provide a safe environment for practicing various activities.

For his part, Engineer Essam El-Naggar explained that the GOEIC will provide the latest testing and analysis laboratories, ensuring that laboratory tests are being conducted in accordance with International Standards and issuance of accredited Certificates of Conformity, contributing to enhancing confidence in sports products circulating in the Egyptian market.

The protocol was signed by Eng. Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, and Major General Ihab Bashir, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
