In the framework of the continuous efforts exerted by Major General Engineer Essam El-Naggar, President of the GOEIC, for developing the GOEIC's services, supporting exports, and opening new markets for Egyptian exports, the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) has approved the extension of the accreditation scope of GEOIC's Products Inspection Unit (GIU) in accordance with the requirements of the International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012, through adding the following items:

First: Kitchen Sinks and Sanitary Appliances
Second: Plastics and Plastic Products
Third: Clocks
Fourth: Ceramics and Marble
Fifth: Plastic Tableware
This came after passing assessment visits by the EGAC during August and September 2025.
The Product Inspection Unit provides inspection services to manufacturers, exporters, importers, and others worldwide. Following the last assessment visit, the Unit's accreditation scope now includes the following items in accordance with the International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012:
- Paper and Paper Products
- Textiles and ready-made garments.
- Footwear and leather products.
- Batteries.
- Cookware and tableware.
- Electrical household appliances.
- Ceramics and marble.
- Kitchen sinks and sanitary Appliances.
- Plastics and plastic products.
- clocks.
