"Products Inspection Unit" at the GOEIC passed the first assessment visit and extension of the accreditation scope from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EJAC) according to the requirements of the International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012.
Within the framework of the continuous efforts exerted by Major General Engineer Essam El Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC for developing the GOEIC's services, supporting exports and opening new markets for Egyptian exports, the Product Inspection Unit at the GOEIC passed the first evaluation visit and extension of accreditation scope by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) according to the International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012. The assessment visit was paid by the assessment team comprising of:

The assessment visit included the following items:
First: The inspection was observed practically in December 2024 at the factories, airports and sea ports for the following products
- Paper and paper products.
- Textiles and ready-made garments.
- Cookware and tableware.
- Footwear and leather products.
- Batteries.
- Electrical household appliances.
Second: Assessment visit to the unit at the GOEIC's branch, Cairo Airport on Sunday, February 2, 2025 and Monday, February 3, 2025, Whereas the inspection of electrical household appliances has been added to the unit’s accreditation scope, including the inspection of washing machines, heaters, fans and irons according to International and Egyptian standards.
The Product Inspection Unit provides inspection services to manufacturers, exporters, importers and others all over the world. The unit’s scope of accreditation now includes the following categories after the last assessment visit according to the International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012:
- Paper and paper products.
- Textiles and ready-made garments.
- Cookware and tableware.
- Footwear and leather products.
- Batteries.
- Electrical household appliances.
