Eng. Essam El Naggar confirmed that Food Industries Sector is considered one of the most important productive sectors in the national economy that meet needs of the domestic market and exporting for foreign markets, especially in the light of the great development that the sector witnesses as a result of the technological progress and modern industrial applications in such manner that paves the way for opening new markets for Egyptian products and increasing export opportunities.
Eng. Essam El Naggar indicated the significant role played by the GOEIC laboratories in inspecting food and chemical products that the GOEIC always develops and improves, and studies the other countries' requirements with their standard specifications.
In a related context, His Excellency asserted the accreditation of the GOEIC as an entity for Carbon Footprint Verification and Validation from the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) in the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030 and as a continuation of the Ministry's pioneering role in updating and developing all work systems whereas the accreditation will contribute to developing the performance for obtaining the maximum client satisfaction with the services provided by the GOEIC.
He also reviewed units that were established in the GOEIC for serving Egyptian exports, such as Products Inspection Unit according to ISO 17020, Conformity Certification Unit according to ISO 17065, and finally Technical Proficiency Testing Unit (GOIEIC PT-Unit) that was recently accredited by Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC).
