Deputy Minister of Finance at the First Annual Conference of the General organization for Export and Import Control: Financial policies that stimulate investment, production and export flows in a stable economic environment, we support the business community to develop its activities in order to significantly and rapidly increase productivity and competitiveness.

At the first annual conference of the General organization for Export and Import Control: Looking forward to a real development in our non-oil exports to diversify sources of income and enhance development and social spending, we are working on an advanced system for clearing between investors’ dues and their government obligations, and we are continuing to develop and automate the customs system and risk management to facilitate the movement of international trade.

Yasser Sobhi, Deputy Minister of Finance, confirmed that we are working on financial policies that stimulate investment, production and export flows in a stable economic environment, one of the pillars of which is achieving financial control of the state’s general budget indicators. As a solid foundation for economic growth and the ability to plan and study the future, noting that we will support the business community to develop its activities in order to significantly and rapidly increase the productivity rates and competitive capabilities of Egyptian products in global markets; In line with what we aspire to in terms of real development in our non-oil exports to diversify sources of income and enhance development and social spending in the medium and long term.

He said, in a speech he delivered on behalf of Ahmed Kojok, Minister of Finance, during the first annual conference of the General organization for Export and Import Control, which is being held under the title: “Developing concepts to launch exports,” that we are working to quickly refund the value-added tax in all taxes within the framework of the tax facilities package. Explaining that we are cooperating with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to develop the export support program; with the aim of speeding up and regularizing the refund of export burdens, taking into consideration that the automation of the Export Development Fund enhances the governance of the “export burden refund” system within the framework of this new program, Also working on an advanced system for clearing between investors’ dues and their government obligations, which contributes to providing the necessary cash liquidity to drive investment, local production and export.

He added that more than EGP 67 billion has already been disbursed to about 3,000 exporting companies in various export sectors, through several successive initiatives, diverse in their facilities and capabilities, starting from 2019 until now, within the framework of the state's keenness to pay export burdens.

He explained that we are continuing to develop and automate the customs system and risk management to facilitate the movement of international trade, in a way that helps reduce customs clearance time, reduce production costs, and boost the competitiveness of the business environment in Egypt, to attract more local and foreign investments.
