Ahmed Samir, minister of trade and industry reviews performance indicators of Egypt`s commodity export in the latest report which issued from GOEIC during the first four months of 2024 and the continued rise In Egypt's commodity exports

12 billion and 912 million dollars, the volume of Egypt’s commodity exports during the first 4 months of 2024, an increase of 10%.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Italy, the Emirates, and the United States of America are the most prominent receiving markets for Egyptian commodity exports

Engineer/ Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, announced that Egyptian commodity exports continued to rise for the fourth month respectively, Pointing out that Egyptian commodity exports during the first 4 months of 2024 amounted to about 12 billion and 912 million dollars, compared to 11 billion and 782 million dollars during the same period in 2023 with an increase of 10%.

This came in the context of the latest report the minister received from GOEIC on Egyptian commodity export indicators during the first 4 months of the current year.

The minister said that the ministry aims during the next stage to increase exports of all productive sectors to various foreign markets and This is through the concerted efforts of the Ministry and its affiliated agencies with the business community and Egyptian exporters and In a way that contributes to increasing the quality and competitiveness of Egyptian products in the local and global markets, and thus achieving the state’s goals aimed at bringing Egyptian commodity exports to about 100 billion dollars annually.

Samir explained that the largest receiving markets for Egyptian commodity exports during the first 4 months of this year included the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a value of 1 billion and 96 million dollars, compared to 993.6 million dollars during the same period in 2023. Turkey, with a value of 1 billion and 76 million dollars, compared to 900.5 million dollars, and Italy, with a value of 793.1 million dollars, compared to 785.5 million dollars. The United Arab Emirates, with a value of 735 million dollars, compared to 460 million dollars, and the United States of America, with a value of 716.2 million dollars, compared to 587.1 million dollars.

The minister pointed out that the most important export sectors that formed the structure of Egyptian merchandise exports during the first 4 months of the current year It included building materials worth 2 billion and 876 million dollars, food industries worth 2 billion and 102 million dollars, and chemical products and fertilizers worth 1 billion and 976 million dollars, Agricultural crops worth one billion and 765 million dollars, and engineering and electronic goods worth one billion and 701 million dollars. Ready-made clothing, with a value of 855 million dollars, yarn and textiles, with a value of 359 million dollars, printing, packaging, paper, books, and artistic works, with a value of 312 million dollars, and medical industries, with a value of 214.5 million dollars, Furniture worth 185 million dollars, furniture worth 87.9 million dollars, handicrafts worth 68 million dollars, and leather, shoes and leather products worth 40 million dollars.

Samir pointed out that the most prominent export items that achieved an increase in the structure of Egyptian commodity exports during the period from January to April 2024 included fresh and dried citrus fruits, worth 767 million dollars, Gold worth 650 million dollars, nitrogen fertilizers worth 588.5 million dollars, insulated wires and cables worth 440 million dollars, and petroleum oils worth 362.4 million dollars.
