Within the framework of implementing the directives of Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, regarding the importance of expanding the field of export and granting privileges and facilities to exporters to bring Egyptian exports to 100 billion dollars.
The General Organization for Exports and Imports Control participated in a joint workshop in cooperation with the Italian Chamber of Commerce and MTS Company, in the presence of Eng.Essam al Naggar the chairman of the general organization for export and import control, Mr. Mahmoud Serg , member of the chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, Mr.Khaled naseef sleem the vice -chairman of the Egyptian Company for Electronic Commerce Technology «MTS» and Mr. Kerles Anwar - General Secretary of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Cairo.
The workshop aims to present GOEIC efforts and procedures to overcome the obstacles and challenges faced by companies in the export and import process, and to respond to all inquiries regarding the Nafeza Egypt platform within the ACI system.
Eng. Essam Al-Naggar reviewed the services of GOEIC, such as GOEIC possession of an unparalleled integrated system of advanced examination and testing laboratories spread geographically throughout the Republic and inside the Egyptian ports, and it is considered one of the leading government agencies in the country that owns a system of internationally accredited laboratories for nearly (2000) tests in (300) developed laboratory in GOEIC branches spread all over the Republic.
Eng.Essam Al-Naggar explained that GOEIC is currently internationally accredited in standards 17065 and 17025 in many tests, and by the end of 2023, GOEIC will have completed the approval of all tests for its laboratories in this field, which are accredited locally and internationally.
GOEIC has established a unit for issuing “conformity certificates “for products, which is an internationally accredited and registered unit that works to increase the competitiveness of Egyptian industry products for export to global markets.
The General Organization for Exports and Imports Control is also one of the first government agencies to be registered among the global conformity assessment bodies accepted by the Saudi “Saber” program with the approval of the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, which contributes to the speedy issuance of conformity certificates and analysis results. GOEIC issued a guide for the Saber system.
GOEIC is also specialized in issuing a “free sale certificate”, which is currently required by some countries. GOEIC has issued an Exporter guide for issuing free sale certificates.
His Excellency also referred to the establishment of "Exporters' Work Facilitation Unit", whose tasks include supportive communication with exporters and speedy resolution of their problems in coordination with the concerned authorities.
His Excellency explained the (authorized Exporter system), which is an electronic platform that allows the exporter to register electronically, which represents a great opportunity to access foreign markets and exempts the exporter from submitting a certificate of origin.
With regard to the commercial registrations of GOEIC, His Excellency stated that the real estate brokerage registry and the registry of advertising and marketing agencies have been added to the services provided by GOEIC.
Eng. Essam El-Naggar also reviewed the trade balance between Egypt and Italy and the increase in Egyptian exports to Italy during the years 2022-2023 compared to the years 2021-2020. His Excellency received all the inquiries and complaints from the attendees, and affirmed that GOEIC is keen on continuous communication with the exporters and importers community in order to inform them of the latest services provided by GOEIC with the aim of facilitating the businessmen community and in a way that contributes to opening new export markets for Egyptian products in various foreign markets.
At the end of the workshop, Mr. Mahmoud Sarg, member of the chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, handed the commemorative shield of the Italian Chamber to Eng. Essam El-Naggar, in gratitude for his distinguished efforts.
