Inspection of more than (25 Million Tons) at GOEIC Labs during the first half of 2019 M.G. Ismael Gaber the Chairman of GOEIC announced that GOEIC Labs inspected (131.836) laboratory shipments during the first half of 2019 with total weight (25.190.145 Tons). (129.573) shipments of them were accepted with total weight (25.041.878 Tons), while (2263) shipments were rejected with total weight (148.267 Tons) for not conforming the Egyptian standard specifications. GOEIC performance indicators explained that the industrial labs inspected (82.241) industrial shipment with total weight (5.101.971 Tons) during the first half of 2019. (81.386) shipments of them were accepted with total weight (5.096.608 Tons) where the most important accepted items: (cars spare parts – cloths – tableware), while (855) shipments were rejected with total weight (5.363 Tons) where the most important rejected items: (bags, wallets and shoes – filters – electric tools). As for the Food Labs, GOEIC inspected (49.595) food shipments with total weight (20.088.174 Tons) during the same period of time. (48.187) shipments of them were accepted with total weight (19.945.270 Tons) where the most important accepted items: (grains – meat – fish- vegetarian oil and fats), while (1408) shipments were rejected with total weight (142.904 Tons) where the most important rejected items: (fresh apple – 'haring' fish – feeds – corn chips –frozen liver and kidney – brown sugar – kinds of cheese – paprika – perfumes - peanut butter – fresh grapes – cosmetics - Peanut butter – dry sweets – jam – calamari – dry fig – basmati rice - chocolate)

GOEIC held a meeting with the members of 'The Egyptian Lebanese Association for Businessmen' News The Egyptian Lebanese Association for Businessmen held a seminar entitled ‘‘Trade Facilitation Mechanisms and Exports Development‘‘ with the presence of M.G. Ismael Gaber the chairman of GOEIC, and the members of Lebanese Association where they discussed the role of GOEIC in Foreign Trade Facilitation through its accredited labs. GOEIC also started a developing plan for the industrial and food labs at a cost of 350 Million Dollars divided on 3 years, as the laboratories will be developed and updated, and new laboratories for inspection will be developed. He also added that GOEIC started the One Window System with Importers which is called ' Logistics' its main aim is reducing the procedures, the time of customs release of a shipment, and eliminating bureaucracy from importers by collecting all the service required in one place, and this has been applied in both Cairo Airport and Bort-Said branches.
