 Residues laboratories at GOEIC branches:

(Dekheila, Airport, Port Said, Damietta , Al Adabiya and Aswan Port)

Residues laboratories are accredited in the following experiments:

  1. Determination of pesticides in food of plant origin.
  2. Determination of polar pesticides in food.
  3. Determination of pesticides in milk and dairy products.
  4. Determination of fatty acids in fats & vegetable oils.
  5. Determination of mycotoxins in food (B1, B2, G1 and G2), ochratoxin A, zearalenone,
  6. Deoxynivalenol, Fumonisins & aflatoxin M1 in milk and dairy products .
  7. Determination of additives ( Citric, benzoic and sorbic acids) in food and beverages.
  8. Determination of sweeteners (saccharin, aspartame, acesulfame k and cyclamate) in food and beverages
  9. Determination of synthetic colors in food and beverages.
  10. Determination of illegal dyes in food as sudan dyes.
  11. Determination of the following heavy metals in food and water: lead, cadmium, copper, iron ,zinc, Arsenic, Chromium, Manganese, Alumonium, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium and mercury
  12. Determination of heavy metals in tableware
  13. Determination of heavy metals in toys
  14. Determination of carcinogen colors in textiles.
  15. Determination of azo dyes in textiles, leather manufactures and shoes.
  16. Determination of heavy elements in textiles, leather manufactures and shoes.
  17. Determination of formaldehyde in textile & leather
  18. Determination of phthalate in textiles, leather manufactures and shoes.
  19. Determination of chromium VI in leather.

First:- Heavy metals laboratory

Areas of inspection and testing:

  1. Determination of heavy metals in food products and beverages
  2. Determination of heavy metals including sodium, lithium, potassium, barium and calcium in water (bottled and sparkling water).
  3. Determination of heavy metals in industrial materials
  4. Determination of heavy metals in safety matches, tableware , crystal & food contact materials
  5. Determination of heavy metals including cadmium, nickel, lead in textiles
  6. Determination of heavy metals including lead, cadmium, copper, nickel, arsenic, antimony, mercury, barium and chromium in leather, leather manufactures and shoes
  7. Determination of heavy metals including lead, cadmium, copper, nickel, arsenic, antimony, mercury, barium, chromium, zinc, manganese, cobalt, aluminum, tin and selenium in toys.

A. Food Products Inspection:

  2. Determination of fatty acids (cis& trans) in fats and vegetable oils.
  3. Determination of class and purity of olive oil.
  4. Determination of mineral oils in palm oil.
  5. Determination of fatty acids in dairy products.
  6. Determination of Capsaicin in chili and its products.
  7. Determination of mycotoxins in foos including aflatoxin (B1, B2, G1 and G2), ochratoxin A, zearalenone, Deoxynivalenol and aflatoxin M1 in milk and dairy products.
  8. Determination of additives ( Citric, benzoic and sorbic acids) in food and beverages.
  9. Determination of sweeteners (saccharin, aspartame, acesulfame k and cyclamate) in food and beverages.
  10. Determination of cholesterol and phytosterol in fats and oils.
  11. Determination of (∆ECN 42 ) The difference between actual and theoretical content of triacyglycerols with ECN 42 in olive oil
  12. Determination of Ethanol in food.
  13. Determination of Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)
  14. Estimation of vitamins Group B
  15. Determination of Organic Acids (Acetic-Citric-Formic-Lactic-Tartaric).

B. Industrial materials inspection:

  1. Inspection of toys according to the European Directive No. 88/378/EEC concerning the safety of toys and basic safety requirements to be met in toys. These include protection against risks affecting health (primary amines, migrating heavy metals, colored substances, plasticizers, acrylamides and formaldehyde).
  2. Inspection of textiles according to the standards of safety and health which must be met (Azo dyes, phthalate, formaldehyde and carcinogenic colors).
  3. Inspection of leather, leather manufactures and shoes according to the safety and health standards which must be met (Azo dyes, phthalate, formaldehyde, Hexavalent Chromium (VI) - pentachlorophenol).
  4. Inspection of Freon gas (liquid and gas)
  5. Determination of manganese oxide percentage in raw materials.
  6. Determination of formaldehyde in pencils, crayons .
  7. Determination of nicotine , caffeine, glycerin and propylene glycol in e-liquid.
  8. Determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in footwear materials.
  9. Determination of bisphenol A in polymers.
  10. Migration of formaldehyde & melamine in food contact materials.
  11. Detection of Solvents (Ethanol – Methanol – Isopropyl alcohol) in perfumes.
  12. Determination of bitrex in perfumes.
  13. Determination of parbenes in cosmetics.
