Residues Laboratories

 Residues laboratories at GOEIC branches:

(Dekheila, The Airport, Port Said, Damietta and Al Adabiya)

Residues laboratories are accredited in the following experiments:

Estimation of fatty acids in vegetable oils

Estimation of mycotoxin in foods

Estimation of percentage of additives (benzoic and sorbic acids) in foods and beverages

Estimation of industrial sweeteners (saccharins, aspartame, acesulfame k and cyclamate) in foods and beverages

Estimation of heavy metals in tableware

Estimation of heavy metals in toys

Estimation of the following heavy metals in food products: lead, cadmium, copper, iron and zinc

Estimation of carcinogen colors in textiles.

Estimation of azoic dyes in textiles, leather manufactures and shoes.

Estimation of heavy elements in textiles, leather manufactures and shoes.

First: Heavy metals laboratory

 

Areas of inspection and testing:

Estimation of heavy elements in food products and juices.

Estimation of heavy elements including sodium, lithium, potassium, barium and calcium in water (bottled and sparkling water).

Estimation of heavy elements in industrial materials

Estimation of heavy elements in safety matches, tableware and crystal

Estimation of heavy metals including cadmium, nickel, lead in textiles

Estimation of heavy elements including lead, cadmium, copper, nickel, arsenic, antimony, mercury, barium and chromium in leather, leather manufactures and shoes

Estimation of heavy elements including lead, cadmium, copper, nickel, arsenic, antimony, mercury, barium, chromium, zinc, manganese, cobalt, aluminum, tin and selenium in toys.

 

 Heavy metals laboratory offers internally and externally training courses in the following fields:

Estimation of heavy metals in food products.

Estimation of heavy metals in textile and leathers.

Estimation of heavy metals in tableware and crystal.

How to prepare laboratories for accreditation according to ISO 17025.

Second: residues and mycotoxin laboratory

 

Areas of inspection and testing:

A. Food Products Inspection:

Estimation of fatty acids (cis& trans) in vegetable oils.

Estimation of class and purity of olive oil.

Estimation of mineral oils in palm oil.

Estimation of fatty acids in dairy and its products.

Olive oil fraud detection.

Estimation of Capsaicin in chili and its products.

Estimation of mycotoxin in foods including aflatoxin (B1, B2, G1 and G2), ochratoxin A, zearalenone, deoxy nevalnon, aflatoxin M1 in dairy and its products.

Estimation of percentage of additives (benzoic and sorbic acids) in foods and beverages.

Estimation of industrial sweeteners (saccharins, aspartame, acesulfame k and cyclamate) in foods and beverages.

Estimation of pesticide residues in food products.

B. Industrial materials inspection:

Inspection of toys according to the European Directive No. 88/378/EEC concerning the safety of toys and basic safety requirements to be met in toys. These include protection against risks affecting health (primary amines, migrating heavy metals, colored substances, plasticizers, acrylamides and formaldehyde).

Inspection of textiles according to the standards of safety and health which must be met (Azoic dyes, phthalate, formaldehyde and carcinogen colors).

Inspection of leather, leather manufactures and shoes according to the safety and health standards which must be met (Azoic dyes, phthalate, formaldehyde, chromate (VI) - pentachlorophenol).

Inspection of Freon gas (liquid and gas)

Estimation of manganese oxide percentage in raw materials.

Inspection of eyeglasses (frames and lenses).

Inspection of formaldehyde in pencils and crayons.
