Since the date of issuing law no.(1 of 2017) to create the "Egyptian Food Safety Authority" to November the 17th, 2019 is the timing of transferring the specializations of our management at GOEIC completely to the "Egyptian Food Safety Authority". The department now is doing many other tasks within the framework of GOEIC's work.
The Central Department of Non-Industrial Imports is responsible for following up all shipments presented to GOEIC, like cosmetics, perfumes, wood, paper, diapers, feeds and vaccines …(etc) in all branches of GOEIC at the Egyptian sea, air, land ports. As well as deciding the position of the rejected shipments by the appeals committee and its technical secretariat, and responding to the importers' complains and questions.
Tasks of the Non-Industrial Imports Central Department:
1-Reviewing importers applications for non-conforming shipments of non-industrial imports with the
"Appeals Committee" or its technical secretariat deciding on them.
2- Issuing importing approvals for some strategic commodities.
3-Reviewing the complaints and requests of customers regarding the implementation of the Ministerial
decree No. 43 of 2016.
4-Reviewing customers applications to be enrolled in the white list according to Article No. (94) of
Regulation No. (770 of 2005).
5-Representing GOEIC in special committees that are concerned with "specifications", held in the
Standards and Quality Authority.
6-Representing GOEIC in both international and national conferences.
7-Connecting GOEIC branches with external bodies.
8-Transferring experiences among various branches through a training program designed for that purpose.
9-Developing the skills of employees in non-industrial imports through different trainings inside and
10-Participating in "taking samples" committees, and following up the handling process with various
11-Preparing various reports related to shipments of non-industrial imports.
12-Responding to all costumers' questions and solve problems.
13-Coordination among all branches to achieve the aims and strategy set by GOEIC to finish the
14-Following up work in different branches to reduce the time of release in accordance with state policy.
