President of the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) met with the German Export Control Agency for discussing joint cooperation. The visit aimed to review the latest systems used in inspecting goods and products and to be familiarized with the technical and legislative frameworks that support the smooth flow of trade.
Engineer Essam El Naggar, President of the GOEIC, paid an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the GOEIC. The visit included a meeting with the German Export Control Agency. This visit aims at learning about the latest systems and methods used in inspecting goods and products, and to be familiarized with the technical and legislative frameworks that support facilitating trade movement while ensuring compliance with internationally recognized quality and safety standards. During the visit, the President of the GOIEC held meetings with officials from the German Agency for discussing areas of joint cooperation, exchanging experiences in Conformity Assessment, applications of digital transformation in inspection and control procedures, and developing technical capabilities.
President of the GOEIC affirmed that the visit is considered as an important step towards developing export control system and making use of the German experiment, that enhances competitiveness of Egyptian exports and maintains the integrity of the local market. This visit comes within the GOEIC's plan for supporting modernization and reform and keeping pace with global changes:
