Eng. Essam El Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC and Major General Sherif Al Mawardy, Chairman of Egypt Expo & Convention Authority (EECA) inaugurate the Exhibition of furnishings, mattresses and carpets (COVEREX).
Ahmed El-Deeb, Secretary General of the Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences (AUIEC), and Ashraf El-Adawy, Director of Trust Exhibitions Company, the organizing company of the exhibition, also participated in the inauguration of COVEREX Exhibition.
Major General/ Sherif Al Mawardy confirmed that the Authority is currently developing industry of exhibitions to keep pace with global developments, as this industry aims to facilitate the delivery of Egyptian products abroad and increase of the exports rates, especially after Egypt's return to membership of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), as a leading global organization that includes more than 90 member countries. He continued, during the inauguration of the exhibition, that the coming period will witness a focus on organizing specialized exhibitions in the textile industry, especially since Egypt is distinguished by its high-quality cotton that is required throughout the world, as Egypt topped the list of the largest countries exporting textiles worldwide.
Major General/ Sharif Al-Mawardi added that the Coverex Textile Exhibition includes more than 50 companies specialized in this industry, which represents a prelude to support these companies to enter foreign markets, especially the Arab and Gulf markets, and encourage the national industry.
Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the Organization of Export and Import Control confirmed, on the sidelines of the inauguration, that the Organization facilitates the movement of trade to achieve the goals of the state’s plan to achieve $100 billion in exports annually.
Engineer Essam El-Naggar added that the GOEIC provides its services continuously for the promotion of the textile sector, especially through the Saudi “Saber” System, which works to facilitate the entry of Egyptian companies in the furnishings and textile industry into the Saudi market, through this mechanism along with supporting them.
He indicated as well that the Organization also provides its services by issuing Free Sale Certificates and issuing Quality Certificates through laboratory testing, confirming that these procedures aim to facilitate the movement of trade and entry into foreign markets, and ensure the quality of the local product.
The exhibition will be opened to the public for free starting from today, Thursday, October 24, until next Sunday, October 27, from 12 am until 11 pm.
The exhibition is the first event specialized in the furnishings, mattresses and carpets sector, which includes a group of the industry experts and leaders in various textile industry sectors that display more than 1,000 models of the premium types of furnishings, mattresses and carpets for national companies.
