Within the framework of the continuous endeavor of Major General Engineer Essam Al-Naggar Chairman of the General organization for Export and Import Control to develop the GOEIC’s services.
The National Accreditation Council (EGAC) has issued a certificate of accreditation for the Product Inspection Unit of the General organization for Export and Import Control as a Type (A) inspection body in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012 in the field of pre-shipment inspection of finished products and sampling, starting from 28/2/2024 until 22/1/2028.

Thus, the General organization for Export and Import Control becomes the first governmental body in the Arab Republic of Egypt to be accredited by the National Accreditation Council (EGAC) in the field of approving the implementation of conformity verification procedures (VOC – Verification of Conformity) which will have the greatest impact on developing Egyptian exports and facilitating international trade.
The scope of accreditation of the product inspection unit includes:
1. Paper and paper products.
2. Textiles and ready-made garments.
3. Shoes and leather products.
4. Batteries.
5. Cookware and cutlery.
The Product Inspection Unit of the General organization for Export and Import Control provides inspection services to governments, manufacturers, exporters, importers, and traders and other buyers and sellers of products in world markets and the unit inspects products according to international, regional or national specifications.
