This achievement comes in preparation for its anticipated inaguration in November 2025, making the museum the largest museum of Egyptian civilization in the world considered as a global model for its commitment to environmental standards.

Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, Executive Director of the museum who expressed his happiness with this achievement, emphasizing that the museum, the largest museum of Egyptian civilization in the world, comprises more than 100,000 artifacts, is committed to the highest standards of environmental sustainability. He added that the report will contribute to reducing the museum's carbon footprint through adopting modern technologies in the energy and waste management. He also emphasized that this accreditation enhances the museum's attraction to international tourists. It is expected to receive approximately (5) million visitors annually.
Major General Engineer Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, demonstrates that the joint efforts of the two sides contributed to such great achievement, reflecting the ability of government cooperation to support major cultural and environmental projects. The Grand Egyptian Museum is considered a global model in its commitment to thr environmental standards.
Engineer Hani El-Dessouky, Executive Director of the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), explained that the council seeks to achieve a balance between the development of major projects and environmental conservation, reflecting a clear vision for sustainable development. The report covers the carbon emissions resulting from the museum's activities during its operational phases and it reflects a clear commitment to sustainability and transparency. It is an important step that put Egypt among the leading countries in linking culture with sustainability.

Under the direction of Eng. Essam El-Naggar, the General Organization for Export and Import Control held at its Center of Excellence a specialized training workshop on "Voluntary carbon and its Relation to Carbon Footprint Specifications", due to the growing global interest in this field.
The state-of-art global practices in measuring and managing carbon emissions were reviewed linking them to the International Standards ISO 14064 / ISO 14067 / ISO 14040, and discussing as well the strategies for reducing emissions and enhancing competitiveness in global markets.
