Chairman of GOEIC participates in the launch of the sixth session of the international exhibition Destination Africa in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Business Sector Eng. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business, opened the sixth session of the international exhibition "Destination Africa ", which lasts until tomorrow. The exhibition is organized annually by the Export Council for Yarn, Textiles and Home Furnishings, the Export Council for Ready-to-Wear, the Egyptian Exporters' Association and in coordination and cooperation with the Egyptian General Organization for International Exhibitions and Conferences. Destination Africa is the only exhibition in Egypt specializing in bilateral business meetings for export and brings together more than 150 major companies and international brands importing the products of the sector and more than 60 exhibitors from Egypt's largest exporters of textile sectors. The exhibition aims to emphasize Egypt's pivotal position and being the main center of the African continent to supply all the sector's products of fiber, yarn, fabrics, ready-to-wear clothes, home furnishings and accessories. This strategic industry in Egypt is characterized by a long history and a strong reputation based on the sole Egyptian cotton of high quality over the past years. Egypt's exports of spinning, textiles and home furnishings achieved a 10% growth rate from January to September 2022 with a total of 1.229 billion dollars. The spinning and textile sector grew by 24% by 817 million dollars and household furniture exports reached 412 million dollars during the same period. Destination Africa is also the only exhibition in Egypt specializing in bilateral business meetings for export and brings together more than 150 major companies and international brands importing products in the sector and more than 60 exhibitors from Egypt's largest exporters of textile sectors.

Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of GOEIC, received the Minister of Transport ready to open the dry port in the 6th of October City As part of the preparations made by the Egyptian state to open the dry port in the 6th of October city, which is the first Egyptian port to address climate change. Eng. Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, received His Excellency Minister Kamel Al-Minister of Transport in preparation for the pilot operation of the port soon and His Excellency the Minister also received: • Head of Customs - Mr. Al-Shahat Ghattouri • Head of Land and Dry Ports Authority - Major General/Amr Mohamed Ismail Many of the leaders of the Customs Service are the Ministry of the Interior and this port is Egypt's first inland dry port. It is worth mentioning that the dry port in 6 October city is the first integrated dry port on 100 acres with the aim of achieving a major economic transition. The port is Egypt's first inland dry port. The total cost of the project is about $ 60 million. The 6 October Dry Port won "IJ Global," as the best transport deal for the Middle East and North Africa region, and was described as one of the first environmentally friendly projects associated with the sustainable transport system and green cities that are one of the solutions to cope with the effects of climate change. The 6 October Dry Port project is one of the projects funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development under the "Green Cities" program, which aims to transform 100 cities into green cities by 2024. The dry port in October has customs departments and all control agencies to terminate import and export procedures, warehouses and cargo shipments.
