Opening of the food and chemical factories of GOEIC in the port of Aswan Eng. Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, inaugurated the food and chemical factories in the port of Aswan As part of the implementation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Republic, to establish central laboratories in the ports pivotal to speed up the procedures for the customs release of all goods and the decisions of the Prime Minister in this regard and the ongoing follow-up by Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Commerce and Industry. Eng. Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, opened the laboratories of the Food and Chemical of GOEIC in the branch of the port of Aswan, which is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, the most important of which is the pesticide, fungal toxins, heavy metals, microbiology and chemical tests, which help to reduce the time of shipment release and assist exporters from Upper Egypt. Eng. Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, stated that the lab is one of the largest laboratories in Egypt and includes a selection of cadres and an integrated team of the best expertise and highly trained on the latest techniques used to detect and estimate pesticide residues in food. Egyptian exports of fresh and manufactured foodstuffs are also examined and analyzed to ensure that they conform to international standards. The method of analysis also includes all chemical collections of pesticides such as phosphorous chlorine compounds, nitrogen, carbamate, perotherides, and dai Theo carbamate etc. Technical competency tests have been passed in most areas of mycotoxins.
Entry into force of Decree No. 403 of 2022 on the import of certain goods in accordance with annex 3 of Regulation No. 770 of 2005 as of 5/10/2022 Eng. Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, held a meeting with the registered inspection and review companies of GOEIC on the implementation of Decree No. 403 of 2022 concerning the import of certain goods under special conditions in accordance with annex 3 of regulation 770 of 2005 as of 5/10/2022. The release of letters imported from these items is required to be from one of the registered producers of the General Organization for Export and Import Control in accordance with the provisions of Article 94 of these Regulations or to submit a certified inspection and review certificate containing the data of the letter and the results of the inspection and testing that indicate conformity with the Egyptian approved standards. The certificate must be issued by an authorized authority of the International Federation (ILAC) or by an Egyptian or foreign authority. It has certified laboratories and specializes in the tests required for each commodity approved by the Minister of Foreign Trade. The General Organization for Export and Import Control shall subject these letters to random inspection.
