The Egyptian Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria, headed by Mr. Ahmed Al-Wakil, received Major General Engineer Essam Al-Naggar Chairman of the General organization for Export and Import Control, and Major General Staff Hisham Mashour, Head of the Central Administration of the GOEIC in Alexandria, This is to discuss ways of cooperation and coordination to overcome the difficulties facing customs brokers, exporters, importers and shipping lines. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Ahmed Al-Wakil, President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and President of the Egyptian Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria, praised the support of the Export and Import organization and its leaders to the Chamber’s members over two decades since the launch of the Communication Bridge Initiative, which links state leaders with the Chamber’s members to present visions to solve problems, remove obstacles, and prevent their recurrence. This initiative has issued dozens of decisions, periodic publications, and legislation that facilitates the performance of work. Through which the first center of excellence was established in Egypt, which provides government services to members of the Alexandria Chamber easily and quickly, this was more than ten years before the single window in various government agencies He added that the General organization for Export and Import Control was one of the first bodies to support Alexandria merchants, whether through its presence in all the activities of the Communication Bridge, Or by the active and distinguished presence in the Alexandria Chamber Center of Excellence with the Tax Authority, the Customs Authority, the Commercial Registry and other parties. Al wakil pointed out that cooperation with the General organization for Export and Import Control has resulted in holding mandatory training courses for exporters and importers at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria. The Egyptian Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria was also the first to update these courses to be delivered virtually and remotely, since the beginning of the Corona pandemic From his side, Major General Engineer Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC presented the role played by the organization, stating that the GOEIC is affiliated with the Ministry of Trade and Industry. It works with the Ministry’s sectors as a cooperative system whose main and primary goal is to facilitate the movement of trade, encourage Egyptian industries, develop exports of all kinds, and raise their competitive capabilities in all global markets to achieve progress and advancement for the homeland and the citizen. It also aims to protect the consumer and preserve Egypt’s reputation by examining merchandise exports and imports using the latest scientific and laboratory methods and equipment.
