GOEIC welcomes a delegation from the leaders of the "ebda'" initiative to discuss ways of cooperation between them and to support and localize Egyptian industries

Today, Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, met with representatives of the National Initiative for the Development of Egyptian Industry "ebda" to push the industrial sector in Egypt to new horizons.

"ebda" initiative seeks to make Egypt an industrial center for the Middle East and Africa, in line with the sustainable development strategy and Egypt's Vision 2030.

Eng. Essam Al-Naggar reviewed GOEIC capabilities in terms of its food, chemical and industrial laboratories, and GOEIC expertise in the field of training in order to cooperate with the initiative and put all GOEIC capabilities in the service of exporters and owners of small and medium enterprises. 

Supporting and localizing Egyptian industries to rely on the local product and reduce imports, through developing production lines in accordance with international standards, with the aim of raising Egyptian export capabilities and increasing the competitiveness of the Egyptian product in regional and global markets.

It is worth noting that the initiative was launched, "ebda" initiative, within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's assignment during the Egyptian family “AL Efttar”, to launch an initiative to support and localize national industries to rely on the local product and reduce imports, by strengthening the role of the national private sector in localizing many major industries. Small, medium and micro enterprises in Egypt, with the provision of a number of incentives in the form of usufruct land and tax exemption for a period of five years, in addition to providing the necessary support to legalize conditions for violators and provide the necessary technical and material support for defaulters.

The initiative aims to localize modern industry, reduce the import gap and provide job opportunities, and its objectives are integrated with the national goals of the Egyptian state, its international commitments and efforts towards achieving sustainable economic and social growth, providing clean energy solutions, and innovation in the industrial field, consumption and production.
