Today, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, His Excellency the Prime Minister, opens the Central Laboratories Building in Ain Sokhna Port.
His Excellency was accompanied during the opening by:
- Lieutenant / Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport.
- Mr. Al-Sayed Al-Qaseer - Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
- Eng. Ahmed Samir - Minister of Trade and Industry.
- Major General / Abdel Majeed Saqr - Governor of Suez.
- Major General / Mokhtar Abdel Latif - Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
His Excellency has opened the central laboratories system in each of (Ain Sokhna Port, East Port Said Port, Damietta Port, Safaga Port, Nuweiba Port, Dekheila Port).
The new laboratories included the laboratories of: the General Organization for Exports and Imports Control, laboratories of the National Authority for Food Safety, laboratories of the Ministry of Agriculture, with the aim of reducing laboratory examination time, not transferring samples from one port to another, and speeding up the final release of imports in line with international rates to improve Egypt’s ranking in International reports for foreign trade and increasing the laboratory capacity of each laboratory to match the volume of imports of various commodities in each port, taking into account the possible future increase in the volume of imports and contributing to supporting the export process and ensuring its competitiveness to preserve the reputation of Egyptian exports and enhance the export capacity in global markets while ensuring the application of all tests Standard specifications to ensure that low-quality goods are not entered to protect the health and safety of the Egyptian consumer.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister and the accompanying delegation visited the industrial laboratories building in the Ain Sokhna branch of the General Organization for Export and Import Control.
Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of Export and Import Control, reviewed the capabilities of the new industrial laboratories in the port of Ain Sokhna. He also gave an integrated presentation on the central laboratories system and the great development in the trade movement inside the ports, explaining that the efforts made by the General Organization for Export and Import Control stem from its keenness to conduct examinations and tests with accuracy and high quality and in the shortest possible time to ensure that samples conform to standard specifications and health, safety and security standards.
For his part, Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, affirmed the Ministry's keenness to improve the system of services provided to the exporters and importers community through commitment to implementing the latest internationally followed systems and rules in procedures for examination and release of exported and imported shipments, which contributes to facilitating the movement of trade between Egypt and the various global markets.
Pointing out that the ministry is working to develop the procedural system in the branches of the General Organization for Export and Import Control as part of the Egyptian government's efforts aimed at governing all border crossings and developing customs departments, in a way that contributes to reducing customs release time by accelerating the pace of examination and release of shipments and avoiding the accumulation of products in Egyptian ports.
While Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, affirmed that GOEIC keenness to establish industrial laboratories in the port of Ain Sokhna comes within the framework of implementing the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, regarding the need to establish central laboratories in all major ports, as well as the assignments of Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, to facilitate inspection services and reduce customs release time in order to support foreign trade movement.
His Excellency also stressed that all GOEIC laboratories were equipped with the latest laboratory equipment to expand the scope of examination areas and increase laboratory capacity, with the aim of obtaining the best results as soon as possible, and then absorbing imports and promoting and supporting exports.
Eng. Essam Al-Naggar confirmed the success of testing the performance efficiency of the GOEIC laboratories in Ain Sokhna during the trial operation period since last September, which includes:
- Leather and shoes testing Lab.
- Tensile and hardness test Lab.
- Pump testing Lab.
- Oil filter testing Lab.
- Fuel filter testing Lab.
- Children's Play Test Lab.
- Energy efficiency testing laboratory for household appliances, including heaters, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, pellet ovens and heaters.
- Acid and dry batteries testing Lab.
- Spectral analysis and environmental tests Lab.
- Hydraulic pressure testing Lab.
- Fractional motor testing Lab.
- Rims and tires testing Lab.
- Grindstone cutters Lab.
GOEIC also owns an integrated and advanced system of industrial, food and chemical laboratories in all ports of the Republic, through which it is keen to implement the highest international quality standards, as it adheres to the internationally followed rules in examination and sampling procedures, which contributes to protecting consumers from poor products that do not conform to specifications and providing high quality products. In the markets, it is also the safety valve to preserve the reputation of the Egyptian product abroad, in line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.
He added that GOEIC has competencies and young cadres that can be used to upgrade the service system and speed up the implementation of procedures in line with the requirements of the digital transformation adopted by the state.
